We highly recommend the Old Carrabelle Hotel as the place to stay in Carrabelle, FL. There are no 4 lane highways nor restaurant waits in Carrabelle, so if that is what you want, stay on I-10. Carrabelle in general and the Old Carrabelle Hotel in particular are remnants of Old Florida, graceful and unhurried. We have stayed numerous times at... More

We travel a lot a get quite bored with standard motels and wanted somewhere different to stay en-route to New Orleans. Carrabelle township in December is definitely different but does have a little gem in the Old Hotel. The Hotel has all the little quirks expected of a B&B, the rooms are fine, we had no trouble sleeping and having... More

For single travelers or couples, this place is unbeatable. From location, to hospitality and cleanliness, there is nothing to complain about. It was not a problem when we stayed, but I can imagine that in high season it could get a little louder since it's close to the main east/west drag along the coast, but if you are a light... More

Love the comfort and convenience here and I have stayed with Skip and Kathy many times in the past. I lived here in Carrabelle during the World War 2 when I was a little girl and my Dad was Postmaster of the base (Camp Gordon Johnston). Each year I try and return to the reunions that are being held here... More

You will find very comfortable setting and $ value at this bed and breakfast. Carrabelle is the forgotten coast new key west state of mind. This is a must stay B&B if you are traveling down the panhandle.

Found this place on Trip Advisor and the reviews were absolutely right. Stayed here on our way to south Florida and would definitely stay here again. Two couples traveling. We had the Hemingway and Magnolia Rooms. They were clean and comfortable. We had absolutely no complaints. We were given a voucher for breakfast at 2 Al's and this is not... More

My husband and I wanted a special holiday week getaway and after planning our route decided on the Old Carrabelle Hotel for one of our overnight spots. As mentioned by others, "our envelope" was in the mailbox by the front door with instructions about locking the house and our room key. This was perfect for us not knowing exactly when... More

Kudos to Kathy and Skip, innkeepers extraordinaire, for making Winchester Cottage such a lovely home-away-from-home. When we read on the site that Carrabelle has “No traffic lights, but that’s how we like it!” we knew we’d found the perfect place for a peaceful, relaxing getaway. If the destination was just right, the accommodations were even better! Not only was the... More

It is always a pleasure to be able to escape the daily hustle and bustle and just relax. We enjoyed our stay at The Old Carrabelle Hotel and appreciated the hospitality of our hosts. We learned incredible history of this inn from our hosts and it painted a great historical picture of this city. How great is it to be... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Old Carrabelle Hotel in Carrabelle, Florida is a “Key West style inn on The Forgotten Coast”. Once the end-of-the-line railroad hotel, now you may enjoy all the modern comforts in an Old Florida casual atmosphere. There is just something about the experience of a 1900-ish inn at the coast (or a coastal cottage at the coast) that no newer motel-hotel can equal. And we are a very different B&B operation – free restaurant breakfasts for Hotel guests, and self check-in -- just for starters. Make your own reservation online, and receive back a confirmation with all the info you may need. Don't Expect: traffic lights, lots of people, McHamburgers, bungee jumps or late-night noise. Do expect: the best seafood, eco-activity opportunities in every direction, and a lot of peace and quiet time on the property, in the forest or on the beach or water! ... more   less
