This B&B is a bed, but only a voucher for breakfast in participating local restaurants. All 4 rooms are upstairs in this charming old house. Although air conditioned, no way to control temperature in individual rooms, on a hot July night this was an issue. I wont dispute the size of the bed in the Flamingo Room, but the bed... More

Bed and breakfast denotes peaceful sleep and breakfast upon rising. This is neither. It's midnight and the music is louder each minute. Behind the flamingo room. If I wanted a live music experience, I would have chosen a motel near the beach. It's absurdly loud. Also, the breakfast is served via 5 minute car ride at a restaurant with a... More

We will be back, and my husband and I highly recommend the Old Carrabelle Hotel. The Regatta room was definitely someplace special for our anniversary. Pictures, books and furniture reflect the interesting experience and tastes of our hosts. Their careful restoration of the hotel, especially the Monkey Bar, gave me a window into a funny elegant yesterday in Old Florida.The... More

This will not be a long review as it is on my mobile phone. I made reservations by phone with the Inn keeper, Skip, on May 11 for Sunday, May 24. Skip left a voicemail on my cell phone on May 20 stating that he could "not honor" my reservation because of a conflict with an online booking site. This... More

This is a charming little hotel and it is nice to see the history preserved but a couple of things were aggravating. First it did not have toiletries suc as bar soap--except a partial bar that someone else had left. The shower curtain has mildew on it. The worst thing, however, was the bed. It was a standard double bed... More

Thanks for the "cute"! This is the second review lately where there was no tape measure used--all beds in our system are queen beds, 60 inches wide and extra long. We have never had a double bed in the Hotel or Cottage. It seems that our large containers of Body Wash, Shampoo and Conditioner hid someone's bar of soap. "...did... More

The Old Carrabelle Hotel is extremely charming and relaxing. It makes for an ideal location for unwinding. The Regatta room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We felt like we were staying with some family friends. Skip and Kathy were great hosts. Breakfast was so generous it nearly killed us! The beach by the breakfast place had white sand and... More

The Old Carabelle Hotel is a delightful place. The proprietors, Skip and Kathy, are a delightful couple brimming with intellect, hospitality, pleasing personality, and wit. The hotel is the antithesis of a franchise motel "bed in a box". Only 4 guest rooms. The rooms are charming and tasteful. There are old timey porches to sit and relax upon. This is... More

Hi Charlton! We hope Massachusetts can come visit Carrabelle again. Just give us enough notice and we'll call the weatherman ahead for you. And we'll work to have the Cottage just as clean and nice the next time! Thanks for the nice comments. Skip and Kathy More

We were looking for a quaint stop over on our way back from the florida keys and reserved a room here. When we drove up, we felt like we were stepping back in time to our childhood and visiting family. Sitting outside on the upstairs balcony having our coffee was great. The room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed... More

Staying at the Old Carrabelle made me feel like I was visiting with an eccentric aunt because it has a lot of quirky charm. We stayed in the Flamingo Room, and the only reason I gave the hotel an average as opposed to a very good rating was because the bed in this room turned out to be only a... More

Quirky and Charming are descriptives we like just fine! They are true. It is unfortunate that this review is online and can not be changed. The reviewer should have "put a tape" to the bed, which is 60 inches wide. Queen as queen can be. We have never had a double bed in this Hotel. And that was the basis... More

Stayed here for 6 nights on an early Dec. hunting trip, and was totally amazed by how fantastic this place was! Skip and Kathy have turned a very old hotel into a true gem! They were the most gracious hosts imaginable; it was literally like being invited in to their home, which it was! Everything was so clean and comfortable,... More
