I was surprised with a camping trip to the Keys. My first time in the Keys after living in SWFL for 10 years. Its been on my travel list for years. We got there later then planned due to car trouble. Staff was nice about checking in. Set up camp there were a few other families tent camping and all... More

We only stayed one night so did not do a lot. Convenient and close to key West. Beautiful beach at East end. Nice facility. Front office staff were not professional. Regarding non reserved sights. Theyade light of the situation when I inquired about staying another night. I was offended on how this works. 10 % of Florida star parks are... More

Where else can you camp next to the water, have a palm tree on your camp site, and snorkel from your campsite? It's awesome here, but very hard to get a spot, love to tent camp here, everyone there is there to have a good time , of yea, go to the boat bay at night and see the Manatee,

I've tent camped at Bahia Honda in the past, but given my wife was coming on this Keys trip, we decided to rent a cabin and couldn't have been more pleased with our decision. The cabins are situated on an old quarry that Flagler mined for limestone when the overseas railroad was built that is referred to now as a... More

This is our second time camping here. It's a great campground with friendly volunteers and helpful rangers. The breach had an unusual amount of sea grass. Normally, it is a beautiful white, sand breach. We did do the Snorkle boat trip with the park concession. It was to a beautiful reef. We look forward to doing it again.

Just tie up the trash and make sure you do it before dark or you'll have some raccoon guests. They can sniff out food with great ease. But that's so trivial compared to the scenic beaches unhindered by man-made hardscapes and plenty of natural plant/wildlife everywhere you go. We listened to a history of the railroad bridge retold by a... More

I'm not a fan of camping, I prefer a hotel, but my family and friends dragged me here.... LOL I must say, the place is very pretty, facilities are clean. We got a site and after maybe 5 steps we were on the beach :). That was nice. There was seaweed, and the water was too merky for snorkeling. But... More

We stayed at Bahia Honda campground for 4 nights and it was wonderful. It was a long weekend (Labor Day) so the beach was busy but had a great time.. The beach is the nicest beach I have seen in the Florida Keys. It does have cabanas but you have to get there early to get one. The campsites are... More

We have day-tripped it to Bahia Honda many times during the past 15+ years and our visits to Sandspur Beach have always been hit or miss. (Granted, we normally frequent the beach during the summer months which apparently is the height of seaweed season.) However, this was the first year that we actually camped, in a tent, at Bahia Honda.... More

I have been here many times and they have all been great. While it is a campground it is not really "too rough". They have nice bathrooms, electricity and water hookup in most locations and it is surrounded by water. Just do not forget the bug spray and flashlights! The beaches are beautiful and the snorkeling trip takes you to... More
