The ocean is always wonderful at this park but the quality of other campers and park staff would make it harder for me to camp there again. Number of park staff was less from the year prior and staff working were not wanting to work or enforce campground rules. Number of volunteers were also down. more

I love the Florida Keys, and Bahia Honda too!!! We stayed at Bahia Honda on two different trips. The first time we camped. The main bath house is pretty nice, and there was a smaller bathroom with in walking distance. It was so cool to camp right by the beautiful water (we stayed by the lagoon), and we saw crabs... more

What a great campsite in the florida keys, about 30 minutes from key west. The park is very clean with great beaches for swimming. I highly recommend the sandspur camping areas for those with tents. The spaces come with water and electricity and some sites have trees providing shade. more

A beautiful state park. We stayed at the Sandspur Campground, # 62, listening to the waves crash in all night long. The higher numbers there will be closer to the beach, but anything along the beach will be wonderful. The only thing that was lacking was coolness-very hot in August in Florida. But we knew that going in. more

We stayed at the Bayside camp area for two nights during the first week of August. Though Bayside is not the prime camping area of the BH park, the camp spots are nice and roomy and overlooking a natural aquarium. A lovely breeze comes of the bay at night which will keep you nice and cool. There is not a... more

Our family consisting of two adults, two teenagers and a nine year old stayed at the Bahia Honda campground from July 31 thru August 3rd. We stayed at the Buttonwood Section: that's the only area where motor homes are accommodated. We have a 27 foot travel trailer. Let me start by saying that this is not a regular campground: there... more

Let me just say This was the most relaxing vacation we have had. Our group varied in ages, my husband and myself ( 26 yrs old) our 6 year old son and 2 year old daughter, and then my mom and my 12 year old sister. We stayed June 19 through 23 2008. We stayed on campsite 56 in the... more

This was an excellent trip. The cabins were wonderful and were affordable. My children 7,3 had a great time. We fished off of the deck, went to the beach and just enjoyed the park. Absolutely beautiful! more

Book way ahead. We stayed in Buttonwood, site 23 on the water. You get the site you reserve. The ideal site at Buttonwood are 12 through 20. Site 21 through 26 are beautiful, but the noise from Route 1 is loud. We were in tents, most people were in RV's, so it may not be so bad. For tent campers,... more

First off, I cannot say enough about BH SP. The beaches are beautiful. Those that want a manicured beach where workers rise early in the AM to rake the debris, seaweed etc off the shoreline should probably turn around and head to SoBe. This is pristine and how old Florida looked once upon a time. There are areas of beach... more
