Thanks to Nicky on the front desk for being so accommodating and arranging for a room that better matched our needs. We have extended our stay for an extra night and have been enjoying one of the longer stay rooms with a fridge and microwave. Even though this is an older hotel it is clean and comfortable and very centrally... More

Front-desk staff anticipated our needs (recommending a nearby restaurant in case we hadn't had dinner), and pointed out luggage carriers plus fresh cookies, and handy lobby computers. All staff seemed very friendly and helpful. Room had extra outlets and a good chair/good lighting for reading.

I got a group rate for an event, so I'm not sure what my review would have been if I'd paid full price. But on the whole I had a positive experience: The room was fine, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Only the breakfast was just so-so, although the coffee was decent.

Convenient location, no view. This is a 40 year old motel with small rooms, no elevator. Rooms were clean, nicely furnished, but I dislike the sink area open to the room - not good if one wants to sleep and the other gets up and turns on the light. SMALL "bathroom" - toilet about 12 inches from the tub. Bed... More

The staff wasn't familiar with the inns policies. They gave the wrong price, tried to substitute inferior tickets for advertised museum tickets and failed to make arrangement for theater tickets included in the package. They were rude and argued when I tried to show them their error.

Hello Florence G., On behalf of the entire staff, we apologize for your missing theater reservation and if you felt mistreated by any of our employees. The hotel is really old and shows it. Musty smells, worn furniture, peeling paint, noisy air conditioner etc. The check-in staff was friendly, but the cleaning staff wasn't.. The breakfast was free, and it was worth every penny! (at least the coffee and OJ were of acceptable quality) You can do a lot better for the same money.

Hello Mike H., We apologize for any inconvenience that you may have experienced during your stay. Our breakfast is catered by Manhattan bagels and served by our friendly breakfast attendant daily. We do not currently have a meat option available, however our scrambled eggs are delivered by Hy-Point Farms and we also have a pancake machine! Your comments will help... More

This is an old property that is in need of updating again. In the Nineteen sixties and seventies, It was a "Quality Inn" called the "El Capitan." Many Wilmingtonians referred to it as the "El CRAPitan." It has earned the name again. The room quality is uneven to say the least. We stayed there twice in July. The first room... More

This place is caught in a 1970's time warp and nothing has been updated since that point in time. Bring your leisure suit and forget any modern devices like phones, IPads, or laptops as they won't work here.

Hello Brian P., Our Wi-Fi is accessible to all remote devices and hardly ever do we experience interruptions in guests service. Our property does have a classic layout however, it is the only one of it's kind in the area with a central, outdoor pool and hot tub!We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay. I stayed at this hotel for a total of 5 weeks over a 12 month period whilst working on a project for my UK based company. I was working in Wilmington but did not want to stay in town. This hotel is a short easy drive from town with plenty of things close to the hotel. Rooms a little dated... More

Guest rooms need to be renovated. Feels like it has lacked proper maintenance. We had to be moved to a second room due to a air conditioner leak. Had been upgraded to a Business room but the only difference between rooms seemed to be the addition of a second chair.

Hello L1108PJpatricias, We apologize for the inconvenience during your stay. Our business class rooms do include an additional chair than the standards rooms. There is also the convenience of a color printer, cordless phone, a little more room to move around and proximity to the pool, vending, fitness center and lobby.
