Really enjoyed staying at Big Oaks but my suggestion to make our next trip there even better is to have the laundry facilities open earlier so that I can do my laundry early then get to the beach early. I lugged all of my laundry up at 7am .... Back up again at 8am .... Then it was FINALLY opened... More

Good: Location, pool, price, value, activities for kids. Bad: Bathrooms, staff, reservations There are many good things, especially when you compare it to the competition of the surrounding hotel prices. I find it convenient to spend the night in a tent (under $40), and pay 1/3 the price for another motel. However, with all the good, there are a few... More

We booked two nights to teach a class in Lewes. We were given a site so small that we had to move the fire ring to set up a 10X10 tent. The people camped behind us, (6-7 feet) were loud, drunk, and dropped F bombs all night. The septic system had some problem. The bathrooms and several places around the... More

We are a family-owned and operated facility and it is very important to us that our location is family-friendly. We do not tolerate the type of behavior you described, and if we had been contacted during the time that it was occurring by calling the emergency late night number, we would have sent the security to your area to address... My boyfriend and I spent one night here and overall we had a very good experience. It was a spontaneous trip, so the state park was fully reserved by the time we were planning our trip. When I called I was told that since we were only staying for one night, they didn't take reservations but we could just show... More

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and we hope that you come back! For future visits, parking can be hard to find in Rehoboth, but there is a public bus that picks up right in the campground. It is $3.15 per person, per day and goes to the beach, the outlets, the movies, and many other locations in... More

This year was our third time to BigOaks. We usually take two campers and like sites side by side. We love the bike trail to the beach and also enjoy taking the trail into Lewis. It's really the only campground in the area besides the state parks. It's clean and friendly. That being said, as I read in other reviews,... More

When these sites were booked it was discussed as to where the sites are located, and that it was next to the maintenance shed. These were chosen due to the shady location, with trees. They are 30 amp sites. We went down to check for debris after it was reported, and did not see anything out of the ordinary on... More

We stayed there two nights, and it was only because the state park down the road was full because another state park nearby was closed for renovation. We paid $55 a night (cash only), outrageous for a sandy mobile home site. This is a trailer park, lots of permanent residents and campers that I assume they have on property and... More

The state parks are heavily subsidized by our tax dollars, therefore they can charge less than private campgrounds. Their RV sites have no electric and no sewer and many of them also do not have water. We are providing at least a 3 point hookup on all of our RV sites (water, electric and sewer) and many of our RV... More

My wife and I have stayed at Big oaks numerous times over the past 15 years. We started out in a in a tent. We enjoyed the location and the campground so much that the next year we purchased a new travel trailer and left it there for the season. Jeff and Dana are friendly and courteous. There are very... My family and I stumbled upon this place by accident 16 years ago and it has been a tradition every time we go to the beach to stay here. We stayed at this campground for the very first time this past weekend and we enjoyed our visit. Yes, the camp sites are very tight together, but if you have a larger travel trailer or RV, then I would suggest you request a site up in the front. The roads that take your further back the campground are very narrow.... More
