We have been coming to Big Oaks for the past three years with our family. We have always been happy with our stay there until this year. I called the day before our trip to see if there were any tent sites. We were told thatthere were ten but they couldnt reserve them. So we went the next day and... More

We physically show the overflow areas before you sign in or pay. You have the option to stay or try to find something else. We find that most people are thankful that we try to find them a place to stay, and literally beg us to find a space just big enough to pitch their tent because they don’t want... More

We come here all the time. Location, location, location... Shopping for the girls, outdoors for the boys:) The place is a short walk away from Midway shopping center, where you can catch a free bus to other parts of the mall. The beach is about 15 minutes away or you can bike there in 45 minutes. Very scenic route. There... More

When I paid the down payment, the price was set at 575$ for a week in a cabin but when we got there the price had changed and we had to pay all of the difference. The cabin sleeps 6 people but there are many hidden costs. We would have left but I had already paid the down payment and... More

We take reservations up to a year ahead, and have to base the deposit on the price at the time. The cabin weekly rate increased by $25.00. Our pricing is based on 2 adults and 2 children under 18yrs., and one car. Any additional persons or cars incur an additional fee. We chose to purchase cabins that accommodate more people... More

The trip was ok but you were very very close to the people next door. There was no space, or privacy. Inside the office was incredibly racist. Pretty much nothing but stuff about supporting the south.Stuff like "The south shall rise again" Overall I would not recommend. But I would recommend to go to "Tall Pines" campground.

You were here during the busiest time of the year, when we are running at our absolute fullest. Nothing in the office is racist, nor do we discriminate against anybody. We have, and welcome, campers of all kinds. The items in the office related to the South have nothing to do with race. They are historical, as the owner is... More

Nice, wooded, some sites secluded. Great location. Bathrooms are clean. Trash is hauled away every day, and there are plenty of trash receptacles. Cottages and trailers are very cute. Each site has a fire ring, and the seasonal campers seem very friendly and happy which I find odd but to each his own. They are pet friendly, but please make... More

We care a great deal about our business. In this instance, the customer was given multiple opportunities to take care of their guests. After being asked at least 3 times, she then told the owner, who was asking politely to please take care of registration, to “move along.” We tried to be polite with the customer, but when somebody is... We stayed a full week at the Big Oaks Family Campground near Rehoboth Beach. I have been to Rehoboth Beach at least twenty times as I just love this area. In the past we have camped at Indian River and at many hotels on and near the boardwalk. We can not wait to return. The public transit bus (for a... More

Really enjoyed staying at Big Oaks but my suggestion to make our next trip there even better is to have the laundry facilities open earlier so that I can do my laundry early then get to the beach early. I lugged all of my laundry up at 7am .... Back up again at 8am .... Then it was FINALLY opened... More

Good: Location, pool, price, value, activities for kids. Bad: Bathrooms, staff, reservations There are many good things, especially when you compare it to the competition of the surrounding hotel prices. I find it convenient to spend the night in a tent (under $40), and pay 1/3 the price for another motel. However, with all the good, there are a few... More

This young lady was here for the second time. The first time was early in the season before we were busy. She had booked a site for 2 nights to assure that she would have a place to stay. We allow one night stays as a walk in, but make no guarantees that there will be a site available. When... More

We booked two nights to teach a class in Lewes. We were given a site so small that we had to move the fire ring to set up a 10X10 tent. The people camped behind us, (6-7 feet) were loud, drunk, and dropped F bombs all night. The septic system had some problem. The bathrooms and several places around the... More

We are a family-owned and operated facility and it is very important to us that our location is family-friendly. We do not tolerate the type of behavior you described, and if we had been contacted during the time that it was occurring by calling the emergency late night number, we would have sent the security to your area to address... My boyfriend and I spent one night here and overall we had a very good experience. It was a spontaneous trip, so the state park was fully reserved by the time we were planning our trip. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and we hope that you come back! For future visits, parking can be hard to find in Rehoboth, but there is a public bus that picks up right in the campground. It is $3.15 per person, per day and goes to the beach, the outlets, the movies, and many other locations in... More
