The Blue Hen B&B is as charming as can be, as are the hosts -- and their dogs! Spent a wonderful morning sitting out on an enclosed porch looking out at the fields while my 16-year-old slept in. Then we headed for a tour of U Delaware, which was great and five minutes away. Even more fun was discovering great... More

Where else can you stay in Delaware with your handicapped family member and two active dogs?? The answer is at the Blue Hen Bed and Breakfast! For several years my handicapped sister, Teresa, and I were planning a trip to Delaware with our two dogs. There are hardly any accomodations that were friendly and accepting of our request. In addition,... More

Our stay began on 9/28/14 and ends on 10/10/14. Amy, the owner and a well-connected Newark native, generously informed us of places to enjoy and introduced us to a variety of people in the area. Amy and her husband gave us our first enticing impression of Newark. We had never been in Delaware! I am relaxing in their comfortable screened... More

Our weekend stay at the Blue Hen B&B was really nice. We stayed in the 'Wyeth' room which was very clean, well decorated, and comfortable. The innkeepers made us feel welcome from beginning to end. The breakfasts were really delicious. Located a few stone's throws from Newark DE, there's plenty of nearby things to see. It would also be perfect... More

So much nicer than any of the chain hotels in the area and so close to school. We usually stay at the Marriott on campus but it was full and that turned out to be the good news. The house has all the charm on a house originally built in the 1600's, (4 poster bed and beautiful antique furniture) while... More

We enjoyed our one night stay at the Blue Hen B&B in Newark, Delaware. This beautiful house has a quiet charm and richness that was very welcoming. Everything was clean and fresh. The owner Amy took very good care of us, even calling when we were late to make sure we weren't lost. Breakfast of homemade baked goods and granola... More

We were looking for a place for a get-together during Graduation weekend that would be like having a backyard party. This was perfect...the food was great and the grounds are very pretty...the perfect weather that day helped - I am sure Amy ordered that for us!!! We did not stay overnight, but it was a great place for a small... More

My daughter and I wanted a B&B that was close to the University of Delaware that also offered lots of charm and Blue Hen B&B scored a ten on both counts. It is about 5 minutes away from the campus. We stayed only one night, but we felt very comfortable in the Wyeth Room. Although our room faced the street,... More

Spent a night at the Blue Hen B&B on a visit to the University of Delaware with my daughter. It is a wonderful house. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the bed was so comfortable. Amy and Don are a great team. She had delicious cookies for us on our arrival and Don prepared a restaurant quality breakfast for us... More

Just stayed at this lovely B&B for 2 nights. The hosts were flexible, prepared for any questions or problems, and the breakfast was delicious. Cassatt room was very comfortable! The location is quite easy to find and close to all Newark areas.
