What a wonderful place! We only spent 12 hours there but what a wonderful 12 hours. Service perfect, grounds perfect, room perfect. Hard to describe anything beyond that. We moved my daughter to Wilmington from Georgia and spent 2 nights in regular suites hotels (nothing fancy). After move in day, we got to relax here. Quiet and wonderful. Can't wait... More

We found this delightful Inn after being disappointed in a reservation we had made somewhere else. We were early in the season so lucked out that they had room for us. It was my daughter and I traveling together. They have a twin beds cottage that is so delightful you don't want to leave. Had we known about this Inn... More

Three of us spent a wonderful weekend at the inn. Our room consisted of a separate sitting room, two full baths, and two bedrooms with king beds. The living room area has a refrigerator stocked with gratis cold drinks and water, as well as a Keurig coffee pot and microwave. The rooms were quiet and lovely. There is a nightly... More

Spent three nights at the Inn with three friends to celebrate a special birthday and it was the best way to spend three nights! We stayed in Morgan, a two bedroom, two bath unit across the street from the barn. Our trip began with a tour of the barn and the gorgeous relaxing space that is hoe to the honor... More

Loved our experience at Montchanin Village. Staff is wonderful and accommodations outstanding. Bathrooms are newly renovated and luxurious. One word of warning: If you are booking the 2-bedroom, 2-bath suite called Rodney, be aware that the first bedroom and bath is on the second floor, the second bedroom and bath is on the third floor. No elevator in this historic... More

The photos on the website make the Inn look utterly charming and relaxing -- and it definitely was! The rooms were very lovely and every aspect of the operation focused on the comfort of the customers. The staff was exceedingly gracious and accommodating. The Crazy Cat restaurant next door had excellent food. The Inn is very close to Winterthur where... More

Built in the dawn of the 19th Century to house Middle Management at the nearby Dupont Gunpowder Manufacturing plant, this quaint little village has undergone a complete modernization in 1997, in order to transform itself into a boutique hotel. After an enthusiastic visit to the Hagley Museum and Library (see separate review), we go to the Inn for a night... More

Stayed in a two-bedroom suite for two nights. The facilities are clean and attractive. The appointments were varied. The sitting room had no sofa, only a love seat and some dining chairs. But the master bath had an elegant English-style towel heating rack, an unexpected luxurious. The hotel is conveniently located for visiting Winterthur and Longwood gardens and the Brandywine... My husband and I just spent 4 wonderful nights at the Inn in the Whittfiel Suite. This is one of the superior suites and it was spectacular. A sitting room with a fireplace, a bedroom with a king size bed and a little porch perched above the private garden. The bathroom was gigantic with a walk in shower and large... More
