I was looking for rustic camping and did not find it here. The sites are all on top of each other. We tried to rent 2 sites back to back so we could spread out a bit more, but the camp site map is not a good representation of the actual site boundaries Besides the camping part, this was a... More

I hiked into Cape Henlopen State Park on Saturday, enjoyed the free Nature Center, was excited to climb the WW II look out tower, with its beautiful vistas. The highlight of the trip was when a deer crossed my path and stood watching me as I passed from about 6 feet away. While you have a forest on one side... More

So close to the ocean, you can hear it from your campsite! It's close enough to stores, and places of interest including Rehoboth Beach which is fun for the teens. If you don't feel like going anywhere, that's fine too. It's a good walk to the beach, or sitting in the shady sites are relaxing and fun.

We've been caming at CH for several years. This park offers shaded sites near the bay and the ocean. In fact at night you can hear the surf pounding. The trails are great for hiking , biking and bird watching. The volunteer staff is helpful and friendly. The bathhouses are what one would expect with the number of people using... More

Visited the park yesterday as a day only visitor to enjoy the beach and check out the park. It was busy and very hot! The changing/restrooms at the beach were like sauna, you were dripping sweat when you walked out. The beach was rocky-pebbly and very crowded. The heat that day did not help – felt like temperature per Weather.com... More

We've camped at CH twice -- the first time in a tent with a 5yo and an infant -- and we've had great experiences. It's definitely a family-friendly campground, quiet in the evenings, plenty of kids around during the day for playtime. I recommend reserving a site on the perimeter for the most space and shade; the center sites are... More

Great family camping! Get a campsite on one of the outer edges and you will be thrilled with the shade and privacy. Other complaints about bathrooms must not be from true campers. I found them to be just like I would expect a bathroom in any campground to be. Besides you are there for the surroundings, not for primping. I... More

The location is good, easy acceses to the beaches, nice landscapes. The beaches are awsome, like a big pool. The generators are not allowed wich is very inconvenient specially these summer days..... There is no wind at all :( So nigths gets so hot being unbearable to sleep through the nite specially if you are traveling with infants. Bathrooms are... More

We've been to C.H. a number of times both camping and just for a day trip. If I were to rate the scenery it would be a 5, the 2 represents the "property". They have now added some beautiful cabins to the campground which I am sure will prove profitable. They lack in adequate facilities for women, you are constantly... More

This was our first time ever camping and this was the perfect location for it. We traveled with 5 teenagers and can't wait to do it again. The campground was nice and the surrounding area was beautiful. The showers were a little muddy/sandy a few times, but the park was at full capacity and to be expected considering it was... More
