I stayed for one night at this campground. Most of the other campers were packing up as there was a storm on the way. I can see how it could become very crowded when the park is full. My site was great and the bathhouse was clean. :) I also found the "Borrow a Bike" program located at the Nature... More

We came to Cape Henlopen to do some surf fishing and figured we would just set up shop at the camp grounds to stay while we were in town .. Being from the west coast and camping a lot up in Yosemite and places like that I didn't have high expectations .. It's just a different type of camping here... More

We stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night. We really enjoyed the location. We walked the bike path over to the observation tower and the fort. We drove to the beach only a couple minutes from our site. As others said though, the sites are on top of each other and have very little privacy. Some spaces just have... More

My wife and I camped here in late August. Arriving around 930 pm in the dark, we were pleased to find a park employee in the check in booth and they sold bundles of wood and ice at the campground. The fire pits are metal and double as grills. We loved our campsite and the location next to showers... didn't... More

We didn't actually camp here just visited for a few hours. The hawk lookout was amazing and the bunker underneath from WWII was too. Wish they would've posted signs about the bunker we only found t by accident. Love that you can drive onto the beach in your car just don't forget to let some air out of your tires!... More

The campsites are right on top of each other. The bathhouse has three stalls and three showers. The showers have a shower curtain to separate you from other people but nothing to keep the water from getting on everything. During peak periods there were over 14 people in line for the shower. Whenever you walk into this area there is... More

The campsites are quite cramped. Often at other campsites there are trees or even a creek between campsites. Here, you're lucky if the stakes holding down the rainfly on your tent don't have to go into your neighbor's site. If your neighbors stay up late chatting (like ours did), you'll be able to write down every word they say. If... More

I just don't understand all the good reviews of the campground. Maybe it's what people like, or are just used to? This is not real camping. There are so many sites packed next to each other, you have like 3-4 neighbors right on top of you. Camping should be a little more private and spread out. It's just row after... More

The park is super cool! You have an observation tower, military stuff, hidden doors in the forest, a great fishing pier (open 24/7, there is also a store to buy bait and tackle right there open from 8am-10pm), a place to rent bikes and nice beaches :) if you stay in the campground you don't need to pay the $4... The park is wonderful! Great trails for walking and biking. Lots of history and friendly park staff there. The beaches are huge and spacious. We did have plenty to do within the park during our 3 night stay. The campground is a different story. My husband and I only camp in public campgrounds because they are usually great for the...
