We didn't actually camp here just visited for a few hours. The hawk lookout was amazing and the bunker underneath from WWII was too. Wish they would've posted signs about the bunker we only found t by accident. Love that you can drive onto the beach in your car just don't forget to let some air out of your tires!... More

The campsites are right on top of each other. The bathhouse has three stalls and three showers. The showers have a shower curtain to separate you from other people but nothing to keep the water from getting on everything. During peak periods there were over 14 people in line for the shower. Whenever you walk into this area there is... More

The campsites are quite cramped. Often at other campsites there are trees or even a creek between campsites. Here, you're lucky if the stakes holding down the rainfly on your tent don't have to go into your neighbor's site. If your neighbors stay up late chatting (like ours did), you'll be able to write down every word they say. If... More

I just don't understand all the good reviews of the campground. Maybe it's what people like, or are just used to? This is not real camping. There are so many sites packed next to each other, you have like 3-4 neighbors right on top of you. Camping should be a little more private and spread out. It's just row after... More

The park is super cool! You have an observation tower, military stuff, hidden doors in the forest, a great fishing pier (open 24/7, there is also a store to buy bait and tackle right there open from 8am-10pm), a place to rent bikes and nice beaches :) if you stay in the campground you don't need to pay the $4... The park is wonderful! Great trails for walking and biking. Lots of history and friendly park staff there. The beaches are huge and spacious. We did have plenty to do within the park during our 3 night stay. The campground is a different story. My husband and I only camp in public campgrounds because they are usually great for the... More

We had booked four nights at this campground in June, but we ended up leaving after only two nights. The campsites are tiny and very close together, which we knew, so we reserved one along the outer edge. It was larger and afforded a bit more privacy, which was nice, though we still were close enough to converse with our... More

We stayed at the campground in tents and it was just perfect for what we expected. There are different ground surfaces some sandy some not, if you have a preference you may want to ask. It was a pretty good walk to the ocean, but you can drive as well if you have stuff to haul. The restrooms/bathhouses weren't the... More

We rented two of the relatively new cabins side-by-side. These were clean and well designed, with plenty of cubby hole space for your bags. There is a small refrigerator and heating/cooling. On the website it said that each cabin had one queen bed, two bunk beds and one sofa bed. In actuality the two cabins we rented had one queen... More

Fee to enter park. Pass valid til end of day. Nice flat hiking trail taking you into the quiet peacefulness of sea birds, vegetation, and surf. There is even a few WWII towers for a little history. There is a beach access which is less crowded and does not have lifeguards.
