Me and my family were on our way back to New England from North Carolina. We rented a room at the Hampton Inn. Our room was wonderful and the whole hotel was wonderful. The hotel's pool was dirty but it was a outdoor. The breakfast was wonderful. It was the best place for the best price more

Stayed here because it was recommended by a co-worker who had visited Dover on business back in July. The price is good, but it was a bit far from the location I was working at (Blue Hen 3.5 miles). Newly renovated and spiffy, but AC very noisy, bright lights in parking lot; windows didn't open, so I prefered stale air all night. The breakfast was standard shipped-in chemical-laced industrial stuff suitable only for fatties. Narrow TV selection. It was a clean and very comfortable bed, and had an upscale feel that fell back as noted above. more

The hotel staff was friendly and prompt, though could not tell me where a laudrymat was. Bed, bedding, pillows were excellent; surprised me for a Hampton Inn. Breakfast had good variety of food..fruit, yogurt, cereal, hot items as well as a brown-bag with apple, muffin, Special K bar, water if in a hurry. Shower was hot with fairly strong spray.... more

Spent one night at the Hampton Inn on the way back from Myrtle Beach--room was spotlessly clean, beds, pillows and duvet extremely comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. Hotel had internet access in the business center. Breakfast was hot and good and included. Pool area average. Negatives: very noisy ac (as another guest commented: hard to adjust - you either freeze or sweat); unhelpful night clerk (our clock radio wouldn't play music- when I went to the desk to ask about it he said it might be broken, but they're cheap radios that don't work well anyways!) Stayed at the Hawthorne Inn in Dover DE the weekend of 3/3-to 3/5. I do not usually comment on places I stay, but I thought this place was definitely worth mentioning. The checkin and out process was the fastest I've ever experienced. We got there late, around 11pm. Took 30seconds to check in and be handed my keys. Nice rooms... more
