We called here early evening for dinner with friends after a walk. A bit of trepidation as it says it is dog friendly. Fortunately they have one bar for dog owners and one for everyone else. The owner was not friendly at all and really gave you the impression that he was not interested in you. He had a big... More

Lovely place to stay and enjoy a relaxing weekend with friends. Food is very good and the added bonus of a micro brewery being on site certainly appealed to the male members of the group. Very conveniently situated close to Windermere and other places within the Lake District. Helpful and friendly staff made the stay very enjoyable. Large choice at... More

Dog friendly. Micro brewery on site. In the Lake District. Friendly staff. Brilliant. I could add more superlatives but these are the most important to me and should be for anyone who wants to visit this wonderful Inn.

I visited the Watermill Inn for a meal with 14 Land / Range Rover maniacs who were Green Laning around the Lakes. I was a bit late but the friendly staff managed to take my food order quickly, so it could be served at the same time for the whole group. I enjoyed one of their local brewed ales, which... More

Stayed here for one night and a couple of days Lakes walking. Our third visit and just as good as previous stays. Beer and food excellent as usual, busier than before, as it was Easter school holidays, but we still felt welcomed, especially our Labrador. We had room 6 for the first time and being on the 2nd floor, it... More

Booked to stay at the Watermill for a couple of days as a base for visiting Lake District attractions. Suffice to say we enjoyed the Watermill so much I asked if we could hang on to our room for a few more days. The pub is just off the main road in what was once the original road, so it's... More

Lovely place in a beautiful setting, the food is amazing at a reasonable price. A very friendly place who also welcomes dogs. I've visited a couple of times and would recommend to anyone in the Lake District. Walkers also welcomed. Local ales on draught.

We stayed here over the Easter weekend and absolutely loved the place. We tried to book in here last year but it was booked up and I can now see why. The accommodation is clean and the rooms are big enough to accommodate both of us and our dog who we took with us. They say the inn is dog... More

Lovely spot for a beer. It's close to a lovely walk that gives you great views over towards Windermere. The pub is great, lovely food and beer.....even better that it's dog friendly. It's my second visit to this place in two months and I have to say it's consistently good. We didn't eat there this visit but the good still... More
