Called in The Watermill for a lunchtime pint and snack while working nearby with a workmate. A lovely pub, log fire roaring away, would have been easy to stay the afternoon! Fine choice of real ales brewed on site with some great names ! We had a sausage ciabatta which was very tasty. Bar staff friendly and chatty. Would like... More

We stopped off here today for lunch. It was very busy - although according to our waitress it was quiet compared to in season. We both chose fish and chips and wow what a good choice. It was excellent- best chips I've had in a long time, actually tasted of potatoe. The fish was delicious in a lovely crisp batter.... More

We really enjoyed our experience at the Watermill Inn, we had a first class evening meal and the real ales were excellent according to my partner. The desserts were good too, overall a relaxed enjoyable, reasonably priced evening.

This inn is real gem from the moment you walk in . The service on all accounts is second to none when most places say dog friendly they don't really mean it . Not true here it is a truly dog friendly place . The rooms are excellent as is the food and real ales. It's is really great idea... More

Bar staff seem more Interested in giving dogs treats and then not washing their hands before serving beer, yuk. Room good but small and noisy as above kitchen (4) stayed here before but would not return in a hurry, having said that the evening meal was lush, lamb to die for.

My husband and I, plus small dog, have just returned from a four night break in the Lake District and were very pleased to have found the Watermill Inn. We went for lunch twice during our visit as we found it difficult to find dog friendly pubs that you could take a dog inside. Sitting outside in a beer garden... More

We visit here every year and did so again in December '14. It's a 'proper' pub with a real fire and you can usually get a table whatever the day, we went on Boxing Day and there were't many people in. Got a lovely seat by the open fire but there was a terrible smell as soon as we walked... More

We went for lunch last Friday and have to say the food was very poor, we both chose the home made beef lasagne and it was very dry and reheated the garlic bread was also dry and hard, best bit was the pudding a fruit pastry basket with fruit not home made. Will not be making a return visit
