We stayed here for one night on a recent tour of Sri Lanka. It was the adults favourite stay and won the family award for the best pool. It is a fair distance outside Kandy which may make it inconvenient. However the service and the setting were fabulous. The rooms were luxurious and felt individual.

Lovely villa in a serene garden setting, cozy and quite. Having breakfast by the pool and to enjoy the tea plantation and garden view is the best moment we enjoyed. We also found deer and many birds in the garden. We appreciate the excellent service from the staff, they made us feel like home. The chef is very sincere and... More

We stayed in some fantastic places on our trip through Sri Lanka, but this was perhaps the best. We had two nights here and the first of these we were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. With the excellent staff on hand just for you, it is a strange but highly entertaining experience, that feels in keeping with... More

This is a difficult review to do as I have previousely stayed at Tea Trails and I guess I had certain expectations, I will try to make a balanced overview of the good and not so good but conclusion is we will not return. Good - 1. The staff are very accommodating. 2. Location – beautiful location and a nice... More

We stayed here for 2 nights arriving on Christmas day and all I can say is WOW, the website does not do this place justice it completely took our breath away. As we were arriving on Christmas day after a 5 hour drive we had requested a 'special' meal for the evening, they made us a full Turkey dinner including... More

This is an authentic 19th century Ceylon tea planter's experience. The scenery is genuinely stunning, with perhaps the best infinity pool ever. The service is warm and personal; rooms and house are at a very high standard. However, when paying in excess of 300usd a night, what lets this place down is the quality of the food, which is at... My wife and I stayed 2 nights at The Lavender House; an English Bungalow in the middle of tea plantation. The surroundings are beautiful and the staff are very nice. The chef is a great cook; we enjoyed his food a lot. Place is more suitable for couples who want to relax in a secluded quit place

This was a great hotel, if not a bit pricey. The internal decor reminds you of what it must have been like to live here during colonial times. The view from the lawn / swimming pool is amazing; rolling hills and green tea plants ad infinitum. We were lucky enough (or unlucky if you're scared of being alone in a... More

We arrived in the Lavender house after a train ride from Kandy to NanuOya. Both experiences gave us the feeling we stepped back in time. The train travels at slow speed up in the mountains from Kandy giving a beautiful view of the tea plantations and the surrounding mountains. The Lavender house is an old planter's bungalow, which as been... More

This hotel is so different and special. It is located in a beautiful tea plantation with views across the moutntians. The hotel is an original house built by the tea plantation planters in the 1890's. There are only 6 rooms and 4 waiting staff. I felt the staff treated guests in a way the original plantation owners would have been... More
