Compared to the Gurney's Resort and Sea SPA in Montauk, which is the Hamptons area just across the bay, this hotel is million times better, not to mention that is few times cheaper. Less expensive because it's Connecticut, not Long Island. The location is superb. Since it's at the bay, the water is always calm and smooth, so you can... More

Very attractive traditional resort with most of amenities one would expect from a full service golf and beach resort. The tennis courts are a short walk, but require crossing Route 1. The beach is nice, but rather heavy with sea weed. Kayaking or even walking at low tide to the nearby bird rocks is fun. Rooms are spacious, with some... More

We came here with our family . The grounds are lovely, the beach staff very nice and helpful, the pool dirty by afternoon, The beach chairs new replacing. There are activities for a fee. There are kids everywhere which didn't bother us. We didn't eat at the resort because it was expensive and didn't seem worth it for us. The... More

After staying at this "resort" on two separate occasions in the last month let me give you my thoughts: 1. grounds-- very nice and very clean...true there were a lot of weeds in the beds but it is August. I guess the staff could get on their hands and knees a bit more. I'll give them a B. 2. tennis... More

This was a retreat to complete a strategic plan with fellow professional colleagues. We utilized the meeting facilities on day 1, then partied the night away followed my a fabulous night of sleep and then meetings on day 2. What happened in between included great food, time on the beach during the day and at midnight, watched a football game... More

Staying a week here at Water's Edge. It was not worth the money. 1.) Restaurant: waiting to get in was given a 1 hour wait time, which turned out to be 1.5 hours. They ran out of many items. Didn't have chicken fingers for kids, all out. Getting a towel for the pool is a pain, need to provide ticket.... More

We hosted our daughters wedding at the WE in August. From the planning that started a year ago to the ultimate wedding event we could not have asked for anything more. Our wedding planner, provided by the venue, was top notch. She was personable, attentive and made sure that every one of our questions was addressed and answered. The venue... More

We had a lovely dinner there last night and were even considering it as a possible wedding venue. I love the location, the staff, the homey and quaint vibe, etc. My only wish is that these things could extend to 100% of the establishment. Water's Edge is upscale, but if you are there in the warmer months, just know that... More

This is our second time at this location but our 1st time actually staying there... Food wasn't good at all.... Drinks were good... live music was decent.... the rooms are so run down unless you are paying $1,000 a night for a newer suite. It has a beach but it's tiny and it's not the best. The beach was dirty... More

The dining experience was the worst ever, beginning with the confusion at the hostess area with our reservation. We were finally seated in the third lowest level of the dining room. The server appeared quickly, he was very friendly, made a point of saying a couple of times he wanted to make sure we had a wonderful dining experience. Things... More
