It's an old inn.....that is exactly what it is.....Nothing is updated and the rooms are very small. Front desk staff upon check in was very nice the other staff that were there had zero personality. The breakfast consists of some muffins and bagels and bruised fruit. Location is very nice though and through booking.com we got a very good rate

Room smelled musty. Hallway smelled of smoke. Hotel is quite old and does not appear to have been updated along the way. Mattress was lumpy and full of coils. I did not want to unpack and put my clothing in the dresser. No shelf space in bathroom. Air conditioner was noisy and inefficient. Overall, we are sorry we didn't stay... More

This is a historic building, and has the ambiance of the distant past. This was appealing to me, since most hotels/motels are very plain and dull these days. The interior has an impressive design, and the rooms are "old school," some even have two separate rooms, with the bathroom in the middle. Its fun to experience a trip back in... More

We stayed for 2 nights at hotel, we took two rooms, one for us and one for our two grown daughters. When we first checked in it was obvious that someone had smoked in one of the rooms, we asked to be moved and was moved immediately. The rooms were nicely decorated, the bathrooms clean and week laid out. However... More

It has not been updated for many, many years.. that's the beauty of it. If you want new and beautiful, skip this place. If you like old, unique and friendly.. come have an adventure. The owner will teach you to play checkers in the lobby and you will feel right at home in no time. The best part is once... More

Had reservations for one night. The Lobby had a terrible musty smell.I asked to see a room with hardwood floors and immediately realized I couldn't stay here. We had tickets for the Warner Theatre right across the street but we ended up staying in Norfolk . There is no ambience here only years of dirt. They offer no apologies and... More

This is a wonderful place to stay for those who enjoy authentic old ambience. The lobby and room furnishings are lovely, making my three nights here like staying in an old home. In terms of modern amenities, each room has free wi fi and a flat screen TV. The hallways are a bit worn and there is no room service... More

We stayed there for a wedding near by, as there was no other choice in the area. The hotel lobby wasn't bad, just very dated. However, the rooms need remodeling badly. The air was musty, the rooms smelled bad and were grimy. We did not sleep well, and awoke feeling stuffy and unrested. We did not use the shower as... More

arrived quite late, around 10pm, mid august 2013, the lift - thought i was in the dark ages! eventually settled in our tiny, dirty room, paint hanging off the walls and air conditioning heater groaning away... we thought we would make do the first night..... woke up in the morning, to find the room and bed covered in ants!!!!! awful... I grew up in a small town and want to support small businesses, but... Traveling for business with a foot of snow coming, Hartford was a risk and so my collegue and I found ourselves at the Yankee Pedlar Inn. My first impression was The Shining meets Larry, Daryl, and Daryl. It landed up to be more akin to staying... More
