Spent 1 week here. Pros: it was on a nice private beach in a nice residential neighbourhood. The outdoor bar was really nice with drink specials and friendly bar staff. The beds were ok in comfort but clean. Cons the hotel is old and rundown. Radiators are smashed, bathrooms are old ( which is not an issue for me but... More

First, I want to be very clear: this is NOT a luxury beach hotel, nor is it a typical beachsiide town. This is an economy hotel that happens to be situated on its own private little beach nestled at the end of a blue-color town. So if you are looking for quaint, or if you require 5 star hotels, do... Typical waterfront rental. Room was clean and balcony over beach was very nice. Staff was very friendly. It is located at the end of the street facing Long Island Sound. Small quiet beach and very quiet area. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and would have expected it to be busier with the hot temperatures. Room had a slight... More

Getting out from Newark airport and spending hours in the rush hour out of New York. It was a revelation to arrive at this peaceful spot a long the coast. Beautifully located by the Long Island Sound this hotel was a nice place to spend the night. Rooms were old and could need some doing up, but they were nice... More

We were up for the weekend for our daughter's competition. Wanted something quiet and on the water. This fit the bill perfectly. Our room had a balcony that looked over the water. Room was very clean and spacious, beds comfortable. The owners were very helpful. The only downside to the weekend was Mother Nature didn't want to cooperate and was... More

Stayed w family. Hotel is right on the sand in the middle of a nice quiet residential neighborhood. Its been family owned for three generations. They have an attached restaurant and bar. Everyone is friendly. The beach in both directions for miles is private shop you won't see any large crowds. Short Beach and Long Beach are two public beaches... More

Went online to find a good deal and found The Rodeway Inn. Clean room. Only thing is I went on one of those sites that give you good deals on left over rooms and I got the smoking room. Not too bad of a smoking smell though. Good restaurant beside it. Good for resting.

Have been going here for over 25 years before they partnered with Rodeway. There has been some updating - the bathrooms have been redone. The rooms with balconies on the water are very calming. The staff are and have always been extremely accommodating. What I would change: needs overhaul of TVs and decor. Always clean and comfortable.

Stayed overnight here on our way to NYC. I love that the hotel is right on the water. It has spectacular views of Long Island Sound. The rooms have been updated a bit, but still retain a vintage feel. I am not a big fan of modern, so a porcelain tiled bathroom was perfectly acceptable. Everything was very clean and... More

We accidentally booked a smoking room, and had to stay in it for the first night. It was horrible - dark and very smelly, and badly in need of refurbishment. Do not make this mistake if you are a non-smoker! In the morning we promptly were changed to a non-smoking room, which the receptionist guy did with no fuss and... More
