We loved our stay at the White Hart. My husband and I chose our Salisbury get away from a friends reccomendation. The staff was very personable, the guest room was comfortable and clean and the food was amazing. The White Hart has a great front porch filled with wicker furniture. A perfect spot for a cold beverage after a long... more

I've been working like a dog and desperately needed a get-away so my boyfriend and I headed up to beautiful NW CT for a weekend of relaxation. The White Hart Inn seems to have had its hey day a long, long, long time ago. "Faded Elegance" doesn't do it justice because I don't think it was ever elegant. The room... more

The breakfast was fabulous! I loved the bagel with cream cheese, salmon, capers and red onion! After checking in I was gravely disappointed to find the room had nothing special about it. It was outdated, dark; a mere motel room. For $250.00 a night I expect something a little more special. The room was clean. I probably would not stay... more

Just stayed the night at the White Hart Inn and was I disappointed. It looks great from the web but this is one old tired inn. Everything about it was old and mediocre. The bedding was sparse, the sheets wouldn't stay on the bed, the linens were worn and the room had no charm whatsoever. The best thing about the... more

Highs: Dog-friendly, fabulous front desk staff, located in "downtown" Salisbury, excellent restaurant (killer corned beef hash and poached eggs), comfortable beds and pillows, gorgeous gardens, incredible front porch Lows: Painted cinder block ceilings, noisy location, room decorated in Country Plain, could have been a bit cleaner, toll-free calls charged $0.75 per call My wife and I stayed at this bed... more

I lived in Salisbury until I was 18 years old - so I know the area really well and I know the prices and services that people visiting the city should expect. Salisbury is beautiful and has lots to offer a tourist particularly on a scorching weekend in July. However, do not ruin your stay by checking into the MacDonald... more

I visited this hotel many years ago, and I remember it being nicer then than now. The rooms are small, the faucets spit out rusty water (time to copper re-pipe!). Food was good, if a bit over-priced for the out-of-the-way location. more

This was our second stay at the White Hart Inn; 2-night visit this year and a 3-night visit in 2005. (winter visits both times) The inn dates to the early 19th century, and is located on the town green in the beautiful town of Salisbury, CT. The inn is comfortable, well-maintained, and clean. The food & service in the Garden... more

I got married here seven years ago. Great place anytime of year. Sevice is outstanding. Pay a little more and stay in the Ford Room, used by one of Henry Ford's sons when he came to visit his son at college. The tavern on premises has that rustic early 1800's smell to it, just a great place to hang out... more

My wife and I went to our friend's wedding here and it was the best reception we have ever been to! The weather was beautiful and the cocktail hour was great out on the deck and town green. Being from the city, this was the quintisential elegant country wedding. All of the food was excellent and the staff was very... more
