I can't say enough about my trip to Captain Grant's. I work three jobs and was given a gift certificate from my children at Christmas to use for a relaxing get-away at the place of my choice. I chose Captain Grant's and I am so very happy that I did. The room was cozy and the food was great! more

As the name implies, this 250+ year old house while nicely restored with all the modern amenities including air conditioning, tv, and free WiFi, retains much of its rich historic charm. The breakfasts were different each morning and so delicious, we were pleading for the recipes. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, making our stay that much more enjoyable.... more

these people should be ashamed of themselves!!!!! the attitude of the owner who couldn't understand that a major snowstorm was evident, and caught an attitude to our advance cancellation from their hotel because of a major snowstorm and raping us of our room $$ should notttttttttt be in business. If we ran our own business in this abhorrable fashion we would... more

We believe this report on Trip Advisor is libel. Here is our side of the story. They cancelled the day prior to their arrival date. They were our only guests to cancel on that date. Carol talked to the husband and told him that they would be charged. We talked and he stated that they would come up in January...

Captain Grant's was one stop of many during our B&B tour of New England. The owners are very nice people and seemed to be truly concerned about the welfare of thier guests. We stayed in the two rooms in the Avery Home next to the main house. The rooms were clean but somewhat smaller than expected. The major problem was... more

There were two couples that stayed with us in the Avery home. When the weather gets cold we allow our guests to make a fire in the fireplaces. The burned wood creates an ashy odor. There is nothing that we can do about this other than not allow guests to have a fire. Guests that are familiar with fires know...

We were met by Ted at our car. He showed us the main house and told us to help ourselves to the cookies and donuts that are always on the table for guests. He helped us with our luggage to our room and had wonderful conversation. We stayed for 5 days with Carol and Ted and everyday the breakfast was... more

This Inn was fabulous. It was so warm and welcoming. The rooms were amazing and the grand staircase when you first walk in will blow you away! The owners were very friendly, ate breakfast with you, and gave you excellent recommendations. This is a must stay! But plan in advance, it books up fast. more

He even recommened some of his favorite restaraunts in the area and gave us tickets for a free dessert or... more

I took my husband to Capt. Grants for a birthday weekend surprise. We got in a bit late, around 8:15 pm. Ted appeared out of no where to assist with our luggage!! Check in was smooth, and Ted was ready with suggestions for where we could get a nice meal. Our room, the Adelaide, was beautiful! The pictures on the... more

After reading the Captain Grant's web site and reviews here at TripAdvisor, I called the inn regarding a room for the busy holiday weekend. They had one room left, which I promptly booked. Ah, I pictured how it would be, looking at the photos on the website...and it looked just like that. Except our room wasn't in the inn -... more
