The front desk staff desperately need customer service training. The spa staff believe they are doing you a favor answering your questions. We ended up cancelling all our spa services. Came home and after assuring us that no one but the "master" room would be charged, all of our guests were charged. These were young families that could not afford... more

I saved up months for this trip. I stayed in a beautiful suite, enjoyed a fire, and was treated nicely by the staff. Until the computer room developed problems. I needed a computer and the front desk kept promising to resolve the problem. After waiting four hours, I approached the front-desk manager, Pauline Ackles, suggesting she contact the provider. She... more

Recently undergone a multi-million dollar renovation and it shows! Huge rooms that include a balcony and a fireplace. Gorgeous bathrooms with nice toiletries. Friendly service. Excellent dining in the restaurant with a view of the harbor! I'd go back in a minute! more

I always loved Old Saybrook and my fiance' knew it and surprised me and took me...It was romantic, we ordered Champagne, had a fire, watched as a wedding reception took place below (was NOT noisy or obnoxious). In fact, we went back and stayed again and loved it then too and this time got direct waterfront. Though it is pricy... more

Checked in and called to reserve a spa appt. Ten minutes later, had to hang up, being left on hold. Went to the spa, waited another 15 min, tired of being ignored. Tried a 3x via phone, spa was booked for the weekend. Personnel are helpful. Fitness center pleasant. Waterview room included a view of kitchen exhaust vents which included... more

We had our wedding reception at SPI. We stayed there the night of our wedding and had a lovely suite overlooking the water. It was a wonderful expereience, and our other wedding guests who stayed at the hotel all enjoyed it. Spa services are ok too. Food at the hotel is excellent! more

What a lovely hotel!. Our room was huge! The view was incredible and the staff were fantastic. We brought our dog (a 50 pounder) and they made us all so welcome. We basically ordered room service for 2 days so as not to leave the hound and the food was fantastic. Our last night, we asked the front desk if... more

I have just returned from a three-night stay at Saybrook Point Inn and Spa, and I am raving to all my friends. The staff couldn't have been more attentive; the rooms, lovely; and the spa, excellent. Our entire party had spa treatments and ate in Terre Mar restaurant several different times. The food is to die for! The bellman set... more

Couldn't have asked for more. Our room was luxuriously comfortable and clean. Staff was courteous and well informed and anticipated our questions, so that we didn't have to ask. Everything worked, the walls were thick enough that we heard nothing except the occasional door close--no tv's, no loud laughs, conversation--nothing--on a weekend the hotel was just about totally booked. We'll... more
