This review is for those travelers with children who are used to some level of quality in their hotels. Seeing that 85% of people recommended this hotel we arrived with (what we thought were realistic) expectations given this is a Econo-lodge . This review will be fair with both positive and negative attributes. OUR ROOM: We reserved a Suite. The... More

My husband and I stayed at Econo Lodge recently and when entered the room it had a bad smell. The room was very hot so when we started the air conditioner it was broke. We called the front desk and the employee stated we have remote to start it. We entered the bathroom and found black hairs on the floor... More

Location is excellent, either on/off I95 or to downtown Old Saybrook or further east to Clinton and Madison. Park-like setting, well lit, ample parking. Elevator for 2nd and 3rd floor right next to front desk. Free WiFi with password. Bedroom was large and spacious enough for 2 queen size beds, the lighting however was minimal and can use some additions.... More

This is a convenient hotel with fair prices. I stayed here for one night after driving for 8 hours. The hotel is easy to find getting off the highway. The desk clerk was extremely helpful even though it was late at night. I received quick service and was in my room no problem. The room was standard but clean and... More

Wow, we stayed here on recommendation from others. Had we known what this hotel was like, I would have paid triple to stay in another hotel. They have some nerve charging the money they did for this dump. First of all, our room smelled so musty, and my kids room smelled like pot. The bathroom was so dirty, I cringed... More

I was going to get hit by Hurricane Sandy so I decided to rent a room at a hotel just in case. I was recommended this hotel and all i can say is I will always stay at this hotel during a Hurricane. The minute I walked in I new it would be a good stay because the maids and... More

First stop to New England from new York and a handy location, just off the freeway. Staff are welcoming, rooms are clean and tidy, with all amenities. Free breakfast served next to the lobby, perfectly adequate, with a good choice of cereals, pastries and of course coffee.

There was no where else to stay otherwise we would have chosen to stay somewhere else. This is a substandard hotel, more like a bad motel. Noisy air conditioning, and an idiot staffing the front desk who could not spell our name regardless of having our passports in front of him. His suggesstion for food places saw us drive up... More

We stayed for several days. Room had an odor or bug spray. Rooms were never vaccumed, dusted, the bathroom and toilet were never cleaned, no fresh sheets and we were there for 5 days. One day no roms in the hotel were cleaned at all. Not a very friendly place to stay. This was once a very nice place with... More
