My husband and I recently stayed here. The entire property is beautifully done. Both buildings, the main house and the carriage house, have a lot of charm and are very quaint. We stayed in the Robert Frost room, which was very cute, super clean, and comfortable. Michael, the inn keeper/chef/owner, was hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. He made us... More

My mom and I stayed here for one night on Friday night. We got in around 2pm and Michael, the innkeeper showed us around. There was coffee, tea, hot chocolate, popcorn, sodas and waters available all the time if we wanted in the main room. There were also these DELICIOUS brownies as well. We stayed in the Harriet Beecher room... More

Oh my; Michael !! (the innkeeper); you blew us away with the cleanliness and period-appropriate Inn and Carriage House. We stayed mid week for just one night in the Mark Twain room. The pictures on the website show carpeting; but don't do the room justice! The room has new paint; and beautiful brand-new hardwood floors! (bring your slippers in the... More

The Old Mystic Inn was perfect for our anniversary weekend getaway. We spent two nights in late February and had a wonderful time. The breakfasts were beautiful and delicious and Michael was an excellent host. We stayed in the Mark Twain room in the carriage house and found it very spacious but still cozy. The fireplace was perfect for the... More

We spent the weekend of January 9-11 at the Inn. Everything about this place was great. Very close to all the nearby attractions. The breakfast that is served is outstanding. The atmosphere is very relaxing.

We stayed here for a wedding in Newport, Rhode Island in August and had a wonderful weekend - with the Old Mystic Inn as a our home base. The Herman Melville guest room on the second floor of the Main House was delightful and quiet - and we really appreciated the private outside entrance to the room given that we... More

There is a reason for three words that describe "good, better, and best." There can be only one superlative and that is "best." The Old Mystic Inn has earned the title BEST. My wife and I and as well as my brother -in-law and his wife spent two nights at Mike's inn in the fall and made it our base... More

Simply awesome place! The owner is a gentleman, we spent one fantastic night in a very nice room (the green one!) , and the surrounding were really quiet and relaxing. The breakfast done by the owner himself was delicious and we definitively would like to come back soon.

We ended up here last minute on our way to Newport, R.I. Checked in around 6 pm and got the last room in the main house. Nice, comfy old house that used to be a bookstore. The owner is very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was good. Inn located about 10 minutes from center of town and 2-3 minutes off I-95.
