We had the pleasure of visiting the Bee and Thistle Inn as the site of a family wedding. Guests filled the Inn for a weekend event and simply stated we could not have had a more wonderful experience. The accommodations were wonderful, sleeping was as close to being at home as you can get. Our meals were expertly prepared -... More

A true New England bed and breakfast. I attended a wedding here over the weekend and the hospitality was amazing. I was certainly impressed that with a full house of family and friends the staff was fully attentive and ready for anything we threw their way. We stayed in room 8 and found it to be very quaint and comfortable.... More

The owners of the historic Bee and Thistle Inn are successfully pulling off the rare trick of marrying one of the oldest and most historic inns in Connecticut with a contemporary style that is unique and appropriate to the setting in Old Lyme. Responding to the local history as the center of both American Luminism and then American Impressionism--both headquartered... More

We spent a lovely evening recently at the Bee and Thistle Inn, but there were some drawbacks that would definitely impact our decision to return. When we arrived on our post-Christmas getaway around 4:30, a holiday party the Inn was hosting was just breaking up and a large group of merrymakers were cheerfully (and immovably) blocking the door and hallways... This is in response to your email, handwritten list and review for the Bee and Thistle Inn. First and foremost, we take any guest concern very seriously. Upon receiving your list of maintenance issues, our front desk manager immediately gave it to the person responsible for these repairs. As a former innkeeper, you must understand how busy it can be... More

From the moment we arrived at the Inn until the moment we left we were pampered and treated as if we were the most important people there. Dinner was wonderful and the bartender made great chocolate martinis. We couldn't have been more pleased!

When I first called the Bee and Thistle, I was sold! We wanted to see the fall color and I was told about scenic drives and things to see. Then when we drove up to the house, it was one of those moments when you know you picked a great place. The atmosphere of the Inn is warm and welcoming,... More

Stayed two nights at this lovely B&B and on both evenings enjoyed its lovely restaurant – fine Connecticut dining indeed. Breakfast area was tranquil with delicious home baked goods accompanying a good hot selection. Rooms were cosy and charming while both the interesting house and the large expanse of garden are dotted with fascinating artwork and modern sculptures. Welcome was... More

I had the good fortune to spend a night at the top of October here. The combination of the beauty of the place, the comfort of the bed and pristinity of the room and bath, the splendid meals at dinner and breakfast and the solicitude of the hosts and crew added up to a world class stay. Christina at check-in... More

My wife and I went to the Bee & Thistle for a 22nd year anniversary get away. We didn't know what to expect with the Inn, but it was great in every way. The staff couldn't have been nicer. They made us feel welcome and special from the moment we went through the front door. They were also incredibly thoughtful... More

Very nice place, with art in the garden where you can relax in the evening sun. Got upgraded to bigger room which was nice and cosy. Food in the evening was good but not extraordenary. Breakfast however was very good and extensive, got even water and oranges for the trip.
