Huge room, beautifully decorated with everything you need. Located 5 minutes walk from a lovely beach and 15 minutes to the boardwalk restaurants. Excellent breakfast and really helpful staff. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

We were greeted very nicely at the Singa Lodge by a very courteous and professional staff. The place has a nice reception area and a well groomed garden, which created a nice atmosphere in an otherwise very unromantic surrounding. We did not feel very safe outside the lodge during the evening and this feeling is strengthened due to the fact... More

Thank you for letting us know your thoughts, we think you've been very fair. It really helps us polish up when we receive such honest opinions and we really appreciate the feedback. Singa is eclectic and although we think that's part of what makes it so charming, we understand that it isn't for everyone. Thanks again for picking up on... More

My childhood friend and I started our Garden Route tour in PE. We arrived from Joburg on a 3 pm flight. I didn't hear a lot about Port Elizabeth before we came, so I considered it a short stop-over on our week-long trip. We are both American, but I have been living in South Africa for almost two years. Our... More

Nice retreat in a suburb of PE, in a quite and safe area. Nice and spacious room obviously decorated by someone with taste. A pity that there was no hot water for our morning shower and the ropes of the front door blind was all tangled up. That made it difficult to open and close it. Don't go there if... More

We stayed for one night at Singa Lodge at the end of a trip travelling the Garden Route. We booked two suites. First, the suites are beautifully and originally designed, each unique with an African Lodge feel. They are spacious with huge baths and separate showers. The beds were very comfortable. We checked in around 6.30pm and were shown our... More

Thank you so much for your review Mark. We are so glad you appreciated Singa's unique appeal and that you liked the gardens, which we really love too. It would have to be business that brings you to this city, but if you find you have to overnight here, try the Singa Lodge. Delightful, helpful people, comfortable, huge tribal-chic rooms with all comforts. Ideally located to the airport and some excellent restaurants.

I had the good fortune to be invited to join the PE Business Chamber and the famous Clem Sunter for dinner at Singa and decided to stay-over last Wednesday night. I know Singa well but hadn't been there for over a year - it was looking fresh and as good as ever. The dinner was fabulous - a Karroo lamb... More

Thank you for giving us such a great review. Desiree will be thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay and your meal at Singa. The Karoo Lamb is always a winning favourite and with such great quality being offered by South African farmers in the Karoo, how could it go wrong? Our chef will be delighted at your praise... More

This was the fifth of our six stops from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. We had a wonderful welcome from Michael who was very attentive and helpful - including making recommendations and our dinner reservation at a nearby restaurant. Our room was amazingly large with bath and separate shower area to one side. It was unusual but worked well. It... More

Having looked at singa lodge on their webiste we were execting more from our stay. Room was round the back so felt separate to rest of lodge, also the room seemed tired and strangely decorated! Staff were pleasant and breakfast was ok, hot food made to order. Provided free garage parking space which was good. Didn't have any of the... More
