the rooms were appointed beautifully and were in excellent condition. the bathrooms were modern though the rest of the buildings are quite period. the host and hostess made our mealtime interesting helping the guests become acquainted with one another and even make some connections unexpectedly. the area offers several restaurants and evening entertainment. there are museums in the area.

My wife in particular loves the Victorian look and the Mountain View definitely had that look. It was beautifully decorated. Dean was a very friendly host and offered tips on what to do. We only stayed for an evening, so it was a quick trip. The outside seating looked like a very nice place to relax and unwind, but we... More

Clearly a favorite among the crowd staying that evening as many had been back or had arrived because of high recommendations of many friends. We stayed to go to two concerts at the Norfolk Music series. We arrived in the late afternoon and warmly greeted by owner Dean who showed each couple to our rooms (Rooms 2 and 4 -... More

We spent a cozy weekend at the Mountain View Inn, with a fire on the hearth and sizzling radiators in a warm bright room with a claw foot tub on a frigid February weekend when blizzard conditions outside made it not just uncomfortable, but downright dangerous. Norfolk is a fascinating old town popular with wealthy families from New York long... More

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Mountainview Inn and as usual, both Dean and Jean Marie ensured out stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as ever from the moment we arrived until we left. The décor of the Inn is beautiful, with Victorian themes. Dean is a very talented painter and you can see his works... More

My husband and I recently spent a delightful three nights at the Mountain View Inn, enjoying its high standard of accommodation and the beauty of its grounds. The Inn has charm and character, and the room we stayed in was furnished with comfortable elegance. A great bonus was the natural light coming into the bathroom making it ideal for shaving,... More

The Mountain View Inn is a charming, quaint Country Inn that exudes a genuinely friendly and welcoming ambiance. Richly decorated with antiques and collectibles it reflects the pride of the innkeepers. The Peacock Motif home accents added by Jean Marie are quite lovely and reminiscent of my days in India. Guest rooms are comfortably appointed with fresh linens, fluffy towels... More

We chose The Mountain View Inn because of it's location to The Infinity concert hall. The Inn grounds are beautiful and we really enjoyed the patio. The front porch is very nice. Our room was nice as well. We were able to walk to The Infinity but would recommend bringing a flashlight for the walk home. I was so looking... More

Mountain View is undoubtedly the most beautiful b&b we've ever stayed in. The condition of the house makes it look like the place opened yesterday. Tastefully decorated, New England charm and gracious hosts who went out of their way to get us off early to a graduation in the morning. I have already recommended this inn to friends and acquaintances.... More

The cottage is a dive, and I will upload photos so you can see. This is one over-priced, worn-out place to stay. The kitchen was absolutely filthy and just gross. The coffee pot still had coffee from the last guest. The kitchen drawers were just filthy and unsanitary and the dish rack was super disgusting. There were ants all over... More

We were shocked and saddened by Maria's review of her stay in our Guest House. Over the course of 11+ years we have always endeavored to provide guests with a good stay and are very concerned when their experience doesn't live up to their expectations. The Guest House is a converted horse carriage barn dating from the late 19th century.... More
