There is no clearer demonstration of the revival of downtown New Haven than The Study. It is a superb small hotel in all respects - architecture and design, service, food, and convenience for Yale events. A room with a "campus view" it is well worth the extra charge - if you are planning to spend any time in your room... More

I reserved an excellent room at The Study many months prior to my vacation in New Haven knowing that the best rooms wouldn't be available later. Pros: The room I got on the 7th floor was truly magnificent: it was large and beautiful, facing the striking campus of Yale University. The bathroom was tremendously spacious with floor to ceiling windows... More

We very much enjoyed our stay - the room and King size bed were comfortable, quiet, and the HVAC worked well on 2 very cold nights. The staff was accommodating and helpful. We asked for a 2 hour delayed checkout and it was no issue for them. The bathroom is small and would benefit from a pocket door, but it... More

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary on New Year's Eve. Best hotel experience of our life. Quiet, beautiful views of Yale, and they let us bring our large, well-behaved dog. The front desk staff even watched our dog in the office while we had brunch at the Heirloom. Everything was awesome, and friendly, thank you!

A lovely small hotel, very tastefully decorated, boutique feel but friendly staff and not the NYC snottiness one usually gets in this type of hotel. Valet parking takes the car concerns away. Right next to the Yale Art Gallery and near the campus. Couldn't imagine a better place to stay for a visit to New Haven. Restaurant/bar a bit pricey... More

Rooms are decorated in a fresh European style. Bed was so comfy. I did not eat at the restaurant on this visit but have had lunch and happy hour in the past. The bar area and reading lounge are very comfortable. Big leather chairs and couches. Service the bar bar was slow and drinks were expensive. Suitable for business meetings... More

The most up-to-date and modernist hotel in the city. The Study could easily relocate to LA/NY and not skip a beat. Professional and helpful staff, excellent location within walking distance of best city dining, entertainment and university galleries. Bed is very comfortable, multiple outlets next to bed and desk, bathroom well appointed with marble and glass shower...if you don't mind... More

This charming hotel is by far my most favorite place to stay while traveling in Connecticut. Its nestled in around the Yale campus and close to many fantastic restaurants with varying culinary flavors - all within walking distance. Shopping is very close as well - including a pharmacy if you find yourself in need of one. Starbucks to the left,... More

I spend three nights at the Study, two with my wife and 5 year old son. It's a very nice place, and I recommend it highly. That said, I'll mention a few quirks. First, it's not the best place to hang out and chat late at night. They shut down the bar by midnight (more or less) and the chairs... More

A very nice hotel in New Haven. Comfortable bed. A very useful desk (for those of us working while in New Haven). A good bar with nice service. The restaurant was mostly good, although smaller serves would be nice - I found myself leaving half of what I ordered, and eventually asking for half serves (which was mostly accommodated). The...
