Our stay at The Maples Inn did not meet our expectations. Upon our arrival we had to locate the front desk clerk - behind a dutch door, seated at a computer some 6 feet away..not terribly welcoming was my first thought! After signing in, I asked where the nearest florist might be and the reply was, "I don't know, I... more

My husband and I and another couple spent one night at this pleasant looking inn. The rooms are as seen on their website from which you can pick a specific room avoiding most surprises. Our room was fine, had a small couch, window airconditioner, and an extra sink in the bedroom. The other couple had a room that was a... more

What a nice change, over the big chains. No restaurant, no big deal. A wonderful dining experience was jusr across thier yard, literally!!! Breakfast was simple and well presented. A wonderfull selection, nicely presented. The staff could not have been more helpful, courteous, and friendly!! Accomadations were well appointed, very clean, and uniquely Victorian!! I will certainly be back, and... more

I stayed in one of the "apartments" (2 bedrooms and one bath) behind the Maples Inn over a weekend in October, 2007. I'm not sure how they compare to the rooms in the Inn itself, but these apartments are really run down. Everything needs to be renovated (especially the bathroom which was tiny). It was quite cool the night I... more

This was our first stay of our three week New England Vacation. We reserved all our reviews until the end of the trip, so we could evaluate all of the B&B's, Inns, hotels as a whole in comparison to the others. This B&B was lovely, along the drive we the scenery and residences kept getting nicer. The room was on... more

Beautiful property, lovely room (dove porch #208) owner very nice over the phone but....next morning at continental breakfast we arrived at 10am (the letter left w/ our room key said breakfast was available until 11am). Staff arrived about 10 minutes later, ignored us and proceeded to make themselves toasted bagels as they removed breakfast items (starting with orange juice and... more

A lovely treat, traveling on business, I found this slice of heaven, with reasonable rate which vilified my expense account manager, plus a continental breakfast included really helped my daily allowance!!! I have re booked for future visits, and will be back again and again. Managers cocktails at arrival is a splendid touch, in front of a warm fire!!! Thanks... more

On a whim I decided to stay at the Maples Inn rather than a chain hotel closer to I-95 during a one-night business trip through Connecticut. My stay was a real treat: the "lobby" (really more like a sitting room) smelled wonderful when I entered and the fire was crackling invitingly. The innkeeper was exceedingly pleasant and happily gave me... more

Warm, beautifully decorated, especially for the holidays, fireplace lit, music in the background, and complimentary glass of wine after a long day at work!!! Sounds to good to be true??? Well there exists a stylish slice of heaven, located minutes from downtown New Canaan, named The Maples Inn! The staff is attentive to every detail, the rooms are beautifully appointed... more
