We only stopped for an over night, returning from Cape Cod. The Inn was very comfortable. The Afternoon tea and breakfast were excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful. I only wish the weather had been better. more

Very misleading website. Peeling paint and awful bathrooms. Stayed in the gatehouse. Rooms didn't look anything like the website. We were lead to believe it was a luxury inn. Far from it! more

Stayed here for 7 days as part of Virgin trip to New York and Boston. Misleading description and agree with other reviews that it is a glorified motel which has seen better times. We had breakfast on our first morning and an evening dinner the same day. We never went back to eat again! Hot breakfast items were cold and... more

This Inn suffers from its own marketing. Its website talks of the 'Mansion on the Hill' stayed in by Humphrey Bogart & Lauren Bacall on honeymoon. It is actually the 'Motel below the Mansion on the Hill'. The majority of the rooms are motel rooms. That said they are clean and reasonably sized rooms. It is a longish walk to... more

The pictures and the descriptions are a total misrepresentation. This motel (that is really what it is) sits atop a hill and looks beautiful from afar. However, the qualities of the rooms are mediocre, even by motel standards, the service as best minimal and the room rates are ridiculous for the quality. We were offered a water view room for... more

The pictures on the web site look great.... The actual hotel, not so much. It's very dated and expensive, strangely. We paid $300 for one night. Our room had a jacuzzi tub and a fireplace, which was nice. But the room looked like it was from 1982 and was damp and dingy. The breakfast was sub-par, and the whole hotel... more

My husband and I traveled 6 hours to enjoy a romantic "high end" weekend retreat... what a joke. The Inn is in need of some serious renovations. Old dirty everything!!! Mattress was horrible, worst night's sleep we've had in a LONG time.... Yes, musty smoky odor! Loud racket of a ceiling light/bathroom fan! UG! Coffee pot and supplies were terribly... more

I stayed here the last week in August. The hot weather had moved on, the days were warm and sunny, the nights cool (had sliding door open, blanket on bed). Stayed in the East Wing, balcony room overlooking the harbor. Had fireplace (didn't use it). A/C worked well, refrigerator (nice touch), Sony TV. Didn't see any warning notes about missing... more

We just got back from the Inn at Mystic, where we stayed for a Thursday and Friday night in August. I read many of the reviews on Tripadvisor (which I am an avid follower of, although I always take the reviews with a grain of salt because I find some people just like to complain no matter what). So I... more
