The rooms were spacious & clean, with comfortable beds, updated private bath, dish of chocolates, and bottles of cold water & soda in the mini fridge. Breakfast was served on the gazebo with wonderful homemade granola, creamy yogurt, fresh fruit, and a hot breakfast choice too. There were homemade cookies and/or pie out nightly with a bowl of popcorn for... More

...That you ate breakfast on a gazebo? ...That the view from the gazebo was of boats in the water? ...that you ate lobster with holandaisse sauce while sitting on the gazebo watching the boats? ...that you enjoyed all of this while using sterling silver flatware? Couple this with a kind and caring owner, who went above and beyond to make... More

We stayed at the Mermaid Inn for two days during our honeymoon and used it as a base to explore Mystic. Firstly, the B&B is absolutely wonderful - one of those that you think you'll never find in real life! With comfy beds and pillows, breathtaking surroundings and homebaked cookies! It's also easy walking distance from the amtrak (5 mins)... More

Have stayed here several years for 3 days in the summer on the way to block island. Getting to love Mystic and the amenities in this wonderful B&B walking distance to almost everything in the historic district. The breakfasts are not to miss.

The Mermaid Inn was a wonderful place to stay in Mystic. The owner was a wonderful woman that treated us like family. The location was outstanding, easy walking distance to EVERYTHING. The rooms were fun and whimsical and very comfortable. The little extras were a surprise and made the trip that much better. Her breakfast was wonderful!! We will go... More

We went to Mystic on a staff retreat for work. Theater folk from NYC. We stayed at Mermaid & loved it & Josephine & her cookies! Great rooms & hospitality. Her homemade breakfasts were so good (that granola! yuuuuum!) VERY CLEAN... we had all the rooms, so felt very comfortable. Took the train up, no car, and could get around... More

Josephine keeps a very clean and comfortable guest house. She couldn't have been kinder. I was booked in for two days Bed and Breakfast. I didn't visit downtown, but spent the two days at Mystic Seaport Museum which is only about 10mins walk away. The food was excellent, and I had the best of sleepovers in a super-comfy bed. Thank... We had a comfortable stay here. I enjoyed watching "Mystic Pizza" and eating Mystic Pizza while we were in our room. It was an easy walk to downtown and the apple pastry we had was excellent. If you are ever in Mystic, I would recommend staying here.

This was my boyfriend's first experience staying at a b & b, so he was a bit apprehensive. Well, now he's a convert! The Mermaid Inn is a pure delight, great accommodations, charming hostess, delicious food and superb location. There are so many little "extras" that make this such a special place -- freshly baked cookies, pastries, gourmet popcorn, cognac... More

We stayed for 2 nights in the Mermaid Room. The bed was very comfortable and we had two very good night's sleep. Its a little bit hard to find, so I would suggest that people pay more attention to the exact wherabouts of the hotel than we did. Josephine has cookes and pie out each evening, together with sherry, and... More
