Was looking for a quick get-away weekend. Whaler's Inn offered a great rate for an incredibly cozy comfortable room day. Staff was incredibly friendly from the moment we booked our room which was only the night before our arrival. Hotel is in the perfect location-shops, restaurants: everything is in walking distance which made going out at night a lot of... More

We have a girls weekend there every year and we always have a great time. We have been going back for about 8 years They take very good care of us; always have great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. Not that there is any shortage of either. The onsite restaurant "Bravo" is excellent; although always busy... More

I'm not sure how I missd reviewing this place when we were there in September. May as well tell the truth. It was probably senility. In our month of traveling the East Coast, two places stand out in my mind and I recommend them to everyone. Whaler's is one of the two. I booked the room I loved from the... More

I have to say that the attention to detail, courtesy, cleanliness, easy charm infused with old world elegance are in every room of the hotel. My experience form start to finish of this trip has been excellent. I spoke at length with a lovely lady called Franka who helped me customize my booking to make it as good an experience... More

The Whalers put on an excellent breakfast, offering a very wide choice and plenty of delicious fruit - quite simply the best breakfast in the whole three weeks we were in US. On the downside, there is no lift, so unless travelling light you might want to bear this in mind when booking. Parking can be a bit tight, but... More

My husband and I decided to take a spur of the moment trip to Mystic, and we found this charming Inn on TripAdvisor and liked the reviews. We were so glad we took everyone's advice! The rooms were beautifully furnished, with a large bath and shower. They were very, very clean. The service was wonderful, and the continental breakfast was... More

My lovely wife and I stayed at the Hoxie House 1/31/15. Room 63. Second floor with 2 windows facing the river and the famous drawbridge. King bed, large jacuzzi bath tub and gas fireplace. Every employee I came into contact was very helpful and kind. The place was super clean except for the carpet. In the Whalers defense, they have... More

We've been staying here for the last 2 weeks. It is such a perfect location if you want to experience this wonderful New England town. Pull in and park, no need for a car here. Anything you will want or need is within a short walk. Good food and drinks, fun friendly people, and entertainment most nights. The amazing staff... More

Our annual visits have been the thing that we look forward to the most during the year, We started when the kids were young and now are closing in on our 60's. Love the Inn, the workers and the town. Mystic has some great restaurants in town and the surrounding towns--Abbott's, Daniel Packer Inn, Noah's and Stonington is a beautful... More

Located on Mystic River next to a drawbridge that serves as a major attraction, the inn sits among a number of restaurants, shops and area attractions. Potentially, visitors could park their car in the commodious lot and drive it again only after check-out. Actually fairly large, the property incongruously gets described on this site as "cute and quaint". The "quaint"... More
