We visited the Bell inn for a meal & a drink and it must rate as one of the best pub for its menu, friendly staff and atmosphere. If you are looking for a great local inn this must be it especially if you support Arsenal.

If you are looking for a real country pub, with excellent beers, fine unpretentious food in North Devon, look no further than the Bell. The Landlord and staff always make you welcome, and treat you like a regular.

Love it here so much! Fabulous home cooked food at reasonable prices, great service and lovely cosy, traditional surroundings! We just wish this place was our local! Always look forward to eating here and it hasn't disappointed yet. Highly recommended.

On a short break, ate here twice, marvellous atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff, looked after us well even though extremely busy! Yes, we had to wait for our food, but it was worth the wait and came with apologies and a lovely smile. Great food, generous portions and very good value.

The service in The Bell is so good, other pubs and restaurants could do with learning a lesson from the staff there. It is welcoming, cosy, lively, and very friendly. The food is excellent, they offer a great range, but be aware of the huge portions! Do book in advance as it does get busy, a couple of times I... More

We stayed at The Bell for one night whilst touring around the South-West. We parked opposite The Bell on the village square and ventured into the main bar to check-in. After an initial hiccup, resolved whilst we had a pint on the decking overlooking the garden, we found our room to be ready, also overlooking the garden and with views... More

We needed somewhere to stay for three nights, late in the school summer holidays. The rooms have been recently refurbished and were spotlessly clean with good bathrooms and plenty of hot water. The double (pretty) room looks over the church square and the quieter twin (more masculine) over countryside. There is plenty of parking. We could arrive anytime after lunch,... More

We were recommended this pub whilst on holiday nearby. Nice pub and good service. All the larger tables were reserved so had a small table in the corner. Menu looked great with some interesting dishes. Me and my partner chose the pulled pork rolls and the kids had the beef burger (sliced beef rather than a pattie). Sadly the pulled... More

Very friendly and welcoming owners and staff. Fantastic food. Great in all weathers and dog friendly. Also has a skittle alley (rare these days) and snooker table, fun for all. There is a lovely outside eating area with super views of the North Devon countryside

Stayed a night here last weekend, rooms recently refurbished and a great ( new, opened in may 2014) games room where we played pool. Breakfast provided was good too - more comfortable and friendlier than travelodge or premier inn for a short stay!
