Very friendly and welcoming owners and staff. Fantastic food. Great in all weathers and dog friendly. Also has a skittle alley (rare these days) and snooker table, fun for all. There is a lovely outside eating area with super views of the North Devon countryside

Stayed a night here last weekend, rooms recently refurbished and a great ( new, opened in may 2014) games room where we played pool. Breakfast provided was good too - more comfortable and friendlier than travelodge or premier inn for a short stay!

We visited The Bell one Sunday lunch time over the Easter holidays. We were holidaying in Devon and wanted a good Sunday lunch with our 2 small children (6 and 4) so booked a week in advance. We arrived at 1pm when our table was booked and were asked to wait in the bar for the previous guests to vacate... More

We visited the bell for a second time recently to celebrate my birthday. The pub serves some great food which is plentiful and tasty. It has a wonderful atmosphere and one of the most popular and busiest pubs we've ever been too. The staff are very friendly and professional; would highly recommend. Thank you for making my birthday so special... More

Visited after being referred by our B n B in South Molton, (Ashley House), and we were surprised and chuffed to be given such a warm welcome as 'strangers ' to the Inn. Good food with plenty of choice for meat eaters and veggies alike.Go and visit - you won't be disappointed!

Visiting from London we found The Bell a thoroughly life enhancing experience! The pub is clearly used by local people as a favourite place not just to eat and drink, but for social/sporting activities (bowling, darts, choir practice, shove halfpenny etc, etc). And the staff and locals could not have been more welcoming or friendly to visitors.

I have to say this Inn is well run by Lyn ,Mike.. Nothing is too much trouble and the Chefs produce excellent, food with superb sweets. Would recommend this Inn to anybody who enjoys good food . Great rural location and the Inn is the heart of the village.

A last minute Sunday lunch found us booked in at The Bell Inn and we weren't disappointed. Set in a beautiful village with car parking opposite it was a real ale pub with lovely home cooked food. We had a baby chair requirement which was sorted quickly, and a fussy 3 year old who had plenty of choice on the... More

My fiancee and I stayed here recently (Aug 2013) to visit relatives nearby. We were very happy. The service was so friendly, the real ale so tasty and the food options so tantalising, that we ended up eating here a few times more than we intended. Chittlehampton itself is very pretty too, so it's worth a trip here. As a... More

We can highly recommend what was our local pub during our stay in beautiful Devon. Lovely friendly people made us feel very welcome. Food was very good with a good choice and a great selection of real ales to try out. No matter how busy they were they always managed to fit us in at a table when we chose... More
