The B&B was the former family home of one of the silk barons in Manchester. That's probably the most interesting feature of the place. Otherwise, the place could really use some sprucing up since everything is slightly dysfunctional or old (not even "charming"): bathrooms, beds, interior design, sound proofing... Other negative: breakfast not served until 8:30 am, which is not... More

Bed and Breakfasts really are the best way to go. Bruce's engaging and quirky personality put us instantly at ease. We were upgraded to the honeymoon suite for free, and it was actually nice not having wifi. My husband and I were able to relax in this quiet and beautiful house and very much enjoyed Bruce's company and the stories... More

Just to clarify a couple of items in this review, we upgrade our guests to the next best room on a space available basis as a standard practice. This was true for this guest and will be true for any other future guests. Second, we do have a free WIFI available in the inn. Guests are given the password when... More

If you want to feel like a guest in someone's much loved home with a history this is the place for you. Bruce was a most engaging host and we enjoyed having his company at our delicious breakfast. The restaurant we chose from his suggestions was excellent and reasonable and the neighborhood was perfect for an evening walk and a... More

My wife & I visited the inn on 3/20/14 for a two night stay. On arrival we were greeted by Bruce who did seem a bit odd in his greeting & instructions on operating the front door at night but it had logic. After visiting Hartford we went back for a shower. I turned on a side lamp & our... More

For about $100 a night, we had a lovely stay and a much more interesting experience than at any similarly priced national chain. The inn is old but well maintained with a very personal feel. There is a working fire place in every room which was simply wonderful. Overall, if you like the bed and breakfast experience, you will enjoy... More

I stayed at the Mansion Inn last week and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have been staying in Manchester two nights a week for the past eight weeks and have made the rounds of all the hotels in the area. The Inn was such a nice change for me. Bruce, the innkeeper, was very helpful and allowed me to check... More

I enjoyed an overnight trip at The Mansion Inn a few weeks ago and have a very nice stay. The inn itself was very cozy and the rooms were spacious and well kept. I stayed in the Lilac Suite which included its own full bathroom, sofa and study alcove. The breakfast the next morning, prepared by Bruce the proprietor, consisted... More

The innkeeper, Bruce, Is a great guy and a good host. Although my sister and I were two hours later than we promised, he was there at the door and got us settled in right away since it was six-thirty in the evening and he was ready to call it a day. We stayed for two nights and had a... More

I recently stayed two nights at the Mansion Inn. It is a charming old house. (If you are looking for sleek and new, this place is not for you.) Unfortunately, I had to leave early in the mornings and wasn't able to partake in breakfast at the inn. There was, however, a Keurig-type coffee machine in the hallway. I helped... More

While this maybe an overused phrase, for me and The Mansion Inn its absolutely true! I'm lucky enough to stay there on business trips but it would be perfect for couples wanting to explore New England. Bruce, the owner, is so warm and welcoming and is a really good cook - breakfasts that make you want to skip lunch.
