We checked into a room that was colder than the air outside. I asked for handicapped access and we got a room in the farthest point of the hotel, 2nd floor all the way in the back of the building! There were only 2 hangars in the closet, not adequate lighting above the "futuristic sink" , which looked nice but... More

I had a strange stay at this hotel last week. I have stayed at the inn several times before and it’s been nice. The renovated rooms in the back are great. But I was put in an older room and it was frankly gross. I wouldn’t have slept in the bed or sat in the chair which was old and... More

Dear Guests, Thanks for your feedback and we feel sorry that we were not able to make you much comfortable this time. Any staff who may have asked your stay at the Inn would only do so out of security and safety concerns for the guest at the Inn as well as the Bistro. She definitely was just being a... More

Driving up, the street-facing facade of this hostelry gives the appearance of a charming, old New England inn. This impression is immediately dispelled before leaving the parking lot: the inn's bicycles sit outside in the rain, rusting away, with uninflated tires. The disappointment persists as one enters: the lobby is devoid of charm, decorated -- indeed, the entire inn is... More

Dear guest, Thanks for writing your feedback and I feel sorry for not being able to make your stay comfortable. Your feedback does indicate the fact that the interior designer who indeed made a decent amount of efforts to remodel the place could not impress you and our exclusive and hand picked furniture did not bring in the charm as... The Litchfield Inn had very nice accommodations. The electric fireplace was a bit of a disappointment. We had assumed it would be gas. Our mistake, though, for not checking. They are in the middle of some major upgrades which did not affect our stay at all. The restaurant/bar there was great. Most of the people were very friendly and helpful.... More

We stayed two nights at the start of the week when unable to find a B&B. Whilst the inn is nice both inside and out, it seemed to lack a little character though perhaps that's unfair as it was the start of the week, just out of season. My wife and I had booked a Queen room and received a... More

Dear Guest, Thanks for your feedback and we are glad you liked the place. The beginning of the week is generally quite and gains momentum. The Inn witnesses many special events and occasion during the week. We understand the disturbance of other rooms while closing doors but since we have 32 rooms at the Inn sometimes that can be a... We found this inn almost by accident, but enjoyed staying here for two nights. Nice staff, good value for money food in the bistro and a very good location to go and explore the beautiful lakes and hills around Litchfield. Would definitely come back.

Staff was friendly and place was cozy. Loved the clean room and bed. Rooms have fridges which was a bonus. Free cookies in room! Parking was free as well as WiFi. Lounge on site was nice! These guys seemed to keep the place nice and it shows. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Was able to get a room at the otherwise sold out hotel. I understand that two weddings were scheduled. Since this Inn is the only hotel in town, I took the room even though the price was high ($260 for a queen). Overall the venue is very nice, looks like an old colonial house and the spiral staircase in the... More

The Litchfield Inn is off the road and the rooms are at the back of the inn, so it is nice and quiet. The room was great. Large bed, couch, TV, wifi, refridge, desk and coffee pot in the room. We needed a place to visit with family between Connecticut and Vermont, travelling with our dogs, and the Litchfield Inn was a big success. Helpful and friendly staff, a nice big property for walking, and a 1600 acre conservation area on Bantam Lake 3 minutes away. Dinner at the Bantam Bistro (see separate review) was very good and excellent value.... More
