My partner and I stayed for two nights as part of a larger trip across New England. Peter Starbuck was a very helpful and friendly, but unusual host that would seem more at home in NYC bar than in an apron cooking breakfast for his guests. The breakfast was excellent though! The room was nice but a little small and... More

We treated ourselves to this place on a tour of New England and it did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived we were looked after and the situation is perfect. It sits near the edge of the town of Kent which is picturesque. The owner was friendly and helpful - giving us ideas for restaurants and places to see.... More

A lovely New England home within walking distance of town, this is a perfectly situated B&B offering warm hospitality and graceful interiors. Upon our arrival, we were personally greeted by innkeeper, Peter Starbuck, who had prepared afternoon tea and snacks for us to enjoy by the fireside. The downstairs living and dining rooms are elegant and comfortable. The inn accommodates... More

We decided at the last minute to get away for a night and Kent is only 90 minutes from where we live. Peter Starbuck is a great host. He loves what he does and has a lovely home. He told us exactly where to go for a flat hike on the Appalachian Trail - close to the Inn. He greets... More

My boyfriend and I spent Saturday night there. We were greeted right away by Peter, the owner. After a short tour he showed us our room. We had the first floor King suite which was spacious and comfy and private with our own door out to the deck overlooking the rear yard. After unloading our bags we went to the... More

Our family stayed here for one night during our New England tour and we loved it! We loved the house, comfortable living room, charming breakfast room, beautiful garden and ground, good-size room, comfortable bed and bed linen. Peter is a great host! We loved the afternoon tea gratis as well. He laid out some tea, water, some liquor, some fresh... More

The Starbuck Inn is a favorite of ours -- a lovely, relaxing setting, super comfy and squeaky-clean accommodations, sophisticated high tea in the afternoon, and a scrumptious breakfast with treats you cannot get anywhere else. But the best feature of all is Peter Starbuck, a consummate innkeeper, thoughtful raconteur and story-teller, brilliant thinker, warm host, and delightful entertainer. He attracts... More

This is a gem. Peter Starbuck clearly loves what he does. The property is tastefully furnished and quite close to town. Breakfast and coffee were excellent. My only complaint was that the walls were quite thin. I could hear the couple next door bickering and coughing, and I'm sure they could hear me. Despite which, I would stay here again.... More
