Lovely location. Service for a delicious dinner was good. Breakfast took over an hour with terrible service. If you want ice, you have to take a bucket to the restaurant to get it filled. Go there for dinner but find somewhere else for the night.

Really lovely hotel in really pretty location Recommended place to stay, outstanding quality of food and excellent staff service. Rooms clean and really well laid out, some have their own private balcony (Carriage House) Few small bits and pieces could do with a touch of renovation but this will not affect the outstanding quality of service or appeal of the... My mother and I stayed two nights at the Copper Beech Inn. The food was excellent - I mean really excellent - the mussels & chorizo with frites, the scallops atop of corn/lobster/risotto, the after dinner cheese plate - the comprehensive wine list....nothing went astray. The staff at the inn was incredibly well trained and just plain warm & lovely,... More

Very peaceful and relaxing. The room was great. Loved the bathroom. Minutes from the Goodspeed Opera House. The breakfast was also great. I would highly recommend. I love to walk. The inn was close to walking trails. The next time I go I would bring my bike.

I'm a big follower of Trip Advisor whenever I'm planning to travel. Although my source (T.V's the Bachelorette) in discovering Essex recommended the Griswold Inn , several reviews on Trip Advisor mentioned the noise and "quirks" of this old but popular Inn. Wanting to step a little outside of the beaten path, I chose another very highly rated B &... More

My husband and I stayed one night at the Copper Beech Inn on our way to Maine from Long Island. The Inn is lovely and the grounds are beautiful. We stayed in the Carriage House and the room was large and nicely decorated. (One recommendation would be additional or larger tables.) The air conditioning did not work well and the... More

I have rather mixed feelings about my stay here because my expectations were fairly high (the website makes the place look so good) and there were some good aspects to our visit, but the experience had some definite bumps in the road. Perhaps it’s easier to start with what is good about the place: (1) It’s only about a 10-minute... More

My wife and I were there in June 2014 for our wedding anniversary weekend and to attend the Hot Steamed Jazz Festival in nearby Essex (25 minute walk from the Inn). We were welcomed graciously by the hosts upon our arrival and had two excellent dinners and breakfasts. The place is well cared for and running smoothly under the new... More

We booked four nights at the Inn for a quiet getaway from the bustling city on our anniversary, and were very pleased. Named after the spectacular old copper beech tree in the front yard, the three houses and property is well-maintained. The Main House is the original inn with restaurant (more on that later), then behind that there's the Carriage... More

We stayed overnight for our anniversary, and I can't say enough about both the Inn and restaurant. We stayed in the carriage House, and loved our room. You feel as if you are on vacation at a far away place, so peaceful and beautiful. The staff was so accomadating and knowledgable about the sights to visit. We are planning on... More
