We had a very nice evening at the Nehemiah Brainerd House. The hosts were very friendly and provided outstanding service, and the location was ideal for heading over to the Goodspeed Opera House. The breakfast was great and our room was very comfortable. What more could you ask for?

The cottage at the Nehemiah Brainerd House is a perfect, private retreat! This charming cottage is tucked into the woods overlooking the Connecticut River in historic Haddam. Although you cannot see the river, the location of this gem was perfect for me to attend functions on both sides of the river. The little house is beautifully appointed - a cozy,... More

Having stayed at larger 5 star hotels during the visit it was great to have a week integrating into a family environment. The owners present their guest house like a welcoming home. The rooms are good with the relaxing area even better. We were a large wedding party family and they made this time so special. The breakfasts are something... More

My friends and our kids stayed at this wonderful B&B recently since we were exploring the Essex area, and were so sorry we only stayed one night. The house is beautifully maintained and decorated just perfectly. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the hosts Maryan and Geoff were lovely and welcoming. Very close to all that we... More

Maryann and Geoff gave us such a wonderful welcome - we had tea and cakes on arrival and chatted for sometime! Their home is beautifully old English, clean and well decorated. In the evening they recommended we go to Brush Mill Inn for dinner which was very good. Breakfast was cooked specially for us - we had a full English,... More

We had a wonderful time - Inn keepers were terrific hosts. We stayed in the Library Suite which was beautiful. Breakfast was delicious - homemade pancakes , sausage and fresh fruit. Can't wait to go visit the area again .
