I just returned from an overnight stay at the Nehemiah Brainerd House. I only wish I could have stayed longer. Maryan and Jeff were so welcoming, making sure I could get to the show at the Goodspeed on time. The breakfast was delicious, the bed was so comfortable, and the views, even in early spring, are spectacular. I enjoyed my... More

As veteran innkeepers, we relish the opportunity to occasionally be on the receiving end of hospitality. Jeff and Maryann made our two-night stay a superbly-memorable experience. We enthusiastically give them "5 stars" for extraordinary comfort, delightful conversation, and stunning historical ambiance. As far as we are concerned, there is no reason to look elsewhere for accommodations in the Haddam area,... More

Jean-Marie & Dean: Thank you so much for your kind review. It was so great having you with us and, as Innkeepers of your own premier B&B in CT, we appreciate your kind words. Looking forward to having you stay with us in the Spring (if not before!) Jeff & Maryan More

We wanted a one- night getaway while attending the Goodspeed Opera House and chose the Nehemiah Brainerd House, (unknown to us). So glad that we did, as this is about the most welcoming B&B we have ever visited. Maryan and Jeff shared time with us and made us very comfortable. Our room was very cozy, and the breakfast was delicious.... More

We planned a last minute one-night get away for our 28th anniversary & were happy to find availability at the Nehemiah Brainerd House which was conveniently located near sites we planned to see. After staying there, however, (our first B&B experience), we were THRILLED to have had the privilege to stay there & wish we could have stayed longer!! We... More

We visited Haddam in order to find out more about my wifes heritage. Go figure I run into a place to stay with her last name on it. What a bonus that good old Nehemia's home is owned by two of the finest in Maryan and Jeff. Perfect hosts, providing a perfect setting and company. Awesome home, great breakfasts, comfortable... After visiting with family for my sister's wedding in June 2014, we would return to Nehemiah Brainerd House in a heart beat and we plan to do just that when we are back in New England in 2016. Jeff & Maryan were delightful, gracious and fun to be with. The breakfasts were excellent, the inn is comfortable and well-appointed with... More

We had the pleasure of staying with Jeff and Maryan while visiting our son at Wesleyan University, and we couldn't have picked more perfect accommodations. From the warm greeting at the door upon arrival, to the homemade breakfast (and the great talks with everyone there), we felt as though we were part of the family. Jeff and Maryan were perfect... We stayed at the Nehemiah Brainerd House as part of genealogical research trip. What a lovely experience!! A beautifully restored colonial home in a gorgeous neighborhood with the historic Thankful Arnold house within close walking distance. Great breakfast, more than I could eat and Jeff and Maryan couldn't be nicer. Centrally located in CT.

My boyfriend and I spent one night at the Nehemiah Brainerd House for our one year anniversary. We drove there from New Jersey and could say that it was worth every mile! The house is absolutely gorgeous and quaintly decorated. Upon arriving Maryan and Jeff came outside to greet us and help us with our belongings. We felt so welcomed... More

This charming, quintessential Bed and Breakfast totally suited my tastes.  The home is beautiful; the quiet, bucolic location overlooking the Connecticut River is special; and the hosts superb. Highlights included enjoying delicious homemade cookies, a steaming bubble bath, and a late-winter walk along the Connecticut River next to a bird sanctuary at sunset. Maryan and Jeff Muthersbaugh are excellent, thoughtful... More
