Got good price from Priceline, but...room very small, 3 ft around bed. Weird bed pillows, small puffy squares, not conducive to sleeping. Poorly lit bathroom. Lobby, public areas dingy and cheap looking. Not enough front parking, not enough handicapped parking, had to park around back at night and then no back access into hotel. One person gave me wrong directions... More

This was the worst hotel that I have come across in a long time. We go on vacation every year, and are not usually picky about the hotels. The only thing that I expect is that it's clean, everything works, staff is nice and helpful, and the rooms are clean along with the beds being comfortable. Well through doing more... More

While this hotel is very close to Fairfield University I wouldn't recommend staying until some major renovations are made. The hotel smelled musty the minute I walked in the door and the rooms were clean but old.

As New Yorkers who do not drive a car, we chose the Best Western for its proximity to the Metro North Station so that we would have a place to stay overnight as we planned to celebrate the landmark birthday of two dear friends of ours. We were impressed from the moment we arrived with the great customer service, the... More

I was dropping my daughter off at Fairfield University and decided to stay overnight the day before she was scheduled to arrive on campus. This is my 8th time at this property and I highly recommend it. The Black Rock Inn is located right off the highway and very close to the University

In Fairfield for the highly acclaimed Stratton Faxon Half Marathon, I needed a quiet place near Jennings Beach. Enter the Best Western Black Rock Inn, walking distance to the train station and a reasonable rate. I arrived in the early evening and was immediately impressed. The exterior design preserved a few New England staples – prominent entryway with dominant columns,... More

My husband and I stayed here one night in August 2014 in room before heading further north in CT to see family. Check in and check out was efficient and the staff was friendly. We were in town to see a concert at the Fairfield Theater Company. It was just a short drive to the theater. Room was clean, internet... More

Had the exact same issue with this hotel described by SueBostonMA on 7/13/14. The room smelled strongly of mildew. We thought opening the windows would help, but then the noise from the highway was too loud for sleeping. We also had excessive noise from a hotel air conditioner or chiller, wasn't sure what exactly it was, but it was noticeably... More

Our check in was fast and pleasant and our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast attendant the next morning was friendly and extremely helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure we were able to sit down and enjoy our breakfast even though we arrived as it was ending. Overall, the staff was phenomenal and we will return.

the room was very comfortable and the decor was very nice. The staff was exceptionally solicitous and accommodating. I would stay there again and recommend it to friends. The location to the beaches was a pleasant surprise and the front desk afforded me the luxury of a print out of directions to get there easily.
