Tom and Julie are marvelous. Very casual atmosphere. Rooms are rustic with charm. Pool, Jacuzzi and pool table and t.v. in the "rec" room. Carrots gladly given to feed the horses as well as recommendations for dinner or things to do in town. Would definitely return.

We recently stayed here for our Valentines/ski vacation weekend. It was so cozy, the food was yummy, and Tom and Julie were the nicest people! My 3 daughters loved the place and begged to stay just one more night! I can't wait to return!

High Mountain Lodge really does have it all - great innkeepers; a beautiful location; clean, quiet, spacious rooms; and more than enough extras to entertain. Just outside of Frasier, the Lodge is down a well maintained dirt road that was no problem even after quite a bit of rain, and Julie and Tom are the perfect hosts, full of helpful... More

The rooms are clean and spacious with a nice seating area. The hosts - Tom and Julie - are very kind and are knowledgeable about the area. I am a gluten-free vegan, and they graciously accommodated me at breakfast. All of us (there were six), vegan and non-vegan, gluten-free and those who are not, agreed the food was excellent. The... Recently return from a 2 night weekend in the Frasier-Grand Lake area. Had chosen the High Mountain Lodge based on overall positive reviews plus a desire not to stay at a conventional hotel. We were very pleased with our choice for several reasons. First the location is about 5 minutes west of Highway 40 thus unlike many hotels in the... More

Very nice hosts, friendly and helpful. Quiet out of town location. Clean. However, the rooms are dated and worn, and the ones that have doors opening to the indoor pool area smell strongly of chlorine. (On the bright side, this helps cover the musty smell.) Pretty country setting but our room with a view (#14) kinda required one to peer... More

One of our projects that has been hanging fire this summer has been repairing the cover for our indoor pool (opening onto the atrium above room 14 where you stayed). Generally, we cover it at night, which cuts down on the evaporation, but a tear in it ( a guest's dog launched himself into the covered pool in April) has... More

The hospitality of the High Mountain's owner alone was enough to sell me. Tom & Julie take a very personal interest in the atmosphere and accommodations of their establishment. Anyone looking for a weekend getaway into the mountains of Grand County take a long look at this bed & breakfast. They offer most anything you could ask from a mountain... More

Tom & Julie are the most solicitous and gracious hosts you will ever encounter. They shared their home, experiences and passion for mountains with all of us. We especially enjoyed Rm 5 with its balcony and view of the lake, valley and mountains. Drinks and snacks before dinner gave all the guests a chance to share stories with each other... More

We stayed at the High Mountain Lodge in June 2013 for three nights. This B&B is in a quiet location off of a dirt county road about four miles from the town of Fraser. You are far enough out of town to enjoy some peace and quiet, but close enough for easy access to shopping and dining. The Valley View... More

Thanks for your kind review! We like to think that "out of the way" is a feature rather than a drawback. As we note on our website, we are far enough from the train tracks that the trains (if you hear them at all as they go through Winter Park multiple times a night) sound romantic instead of disturbing. We... More

We stayed in room 9; Valley View and what a view. It was worth climbing 2 1/2 flights of stairs to your own living room with a private deck overlooking a mountain valley. The bed was very comfortable with luxury sheets, bedding and towels. The hosts Tom & Julie were friendly and made you feel at home. The breakfasts were... More
