My family recently took a ski trip to Winter Park, Colorado. We rented our room through (Alderwood) at the Iron Horse Resort. We were very amazed at how accommidating the Alderwood employees were. The cleanliness of our room went beyond our expectations and made for a very comfortable stay. We often come to Winter Park for our winter vacation and... More

I had booked one nite here for feb 3rd 2012, at time of booking I specifically asked if bad weather prevented me from getting to Winterpark would I be allowed to cancel with no charge, the gal said sure no problem. Lo and behold heavy snow with over 600 flight cancellations into Denver occured on that day. My flight was... More

I am sorry to hear of your cancellation to Winter Park and the Iron Horse Resort. Typically if adverse weather has closed the roads to Winter Park then yes, we refund the full amount of your stay. However, your flight was not cancelled to Denver and the roads were not closed, usually resulting in full forfeiture of your reservation cost.... More

... it may make a difference who you book through. We booked with priceline, who referred us (via a company called leisurelink) to alpine resort properties. That created some hassle: -upon arrival (at 7:30pm, after our flight and 90 min drive from Denver, with 2 hungry and tired kids), the front desk told us told us that the management company... More

We stayed five days in a one-bedroom unit on one of the upper floors and enjoyed the convenient ski-in / ski-out. This room was nicely decorated and had a full kitchen. It seemed to be individually owned and rented out as part of the Iron Horse Resort, so I assume each unit might be different and therefore it's not possible... More

This was our first trip to Winter Park. There may be better options that the regulars know of, but based on our experience we liked the Iron Horse. Is it a luxury resort? No. Is it easy ski in-ski out for all levels? No. But for a last-minute get away to do some early season skiing with two snowboard-novice kids,... More

Let me start with the conclusion: if you have reservations to stay at the Iron Horse Resort in summer, then cancel them. We arrived slightly after 6 p.m. at the ‘resort’ to check in. Nobody was there. The check-in desk was deserted, no people, no computers, no keys. A waiter from the adjacent restaurant told us we needed to go... More

We really liked the location, easy to ski out of...but hard to ski in with beginners as the run leading to it is a steep blue. So if you have small children plan to take the bus back from the WP base area. Very nice unit we stayed in, fresh towels daily. Easy access to the hot tub and indoor/outdoor... More

Rated this average because as hotels go it was average (I'm in one 100+ nights a year) . First time stay at Iron Horse. 12th trip to WP. have also stayed at the WP Chateau, Founders, Frasers, Viking, and the Olympia. Based on that sample for Winter Park it's better than avaerage. Although we rented a private unit thru VRBO... More

I went last week with a few friends of mine. We had a great time! The ski in/out access was awesome! Just a walk down the hall and your on on the slopes! Comfortable and cozy rooms. We went to the Bistro downstairs 3 out of our 4 nights and had dinner. Great drinks and amazing food! Steve was the... More

This was our first visit to Winter Park and this location was perfect for us. The unit (Bldg D 5094) we stayed in was wonderful, had everything we needed and very clean and well kept. The location to the Base of Winter Park was ideal for either the shuttle or a walk. The ski rental shop is right down stairs... More
