We were looking for something other than the typical motel & cold breakfast, and we found it here. We shared a suite with family, and we each had clean beds with large rooms. There was only one bath in the suite, but that wasn't a problem for us. La Plaza has great old architecture, and is appointed with period antiques.... More

The hotel is old and not good! It was not clean, the restaurant close early. I don't recomend. It is close to a rail road and the train honk the horn every two hours. Old carpet and old air conditioner. Nothing good around. The furniture is old and my mattres very old.

Stayed at the La Plaza Inn with a group of friends, as a matter of fact we had all the 10 rooms booked for our group. Great little Inn with superb service, we all had dinner at the Inn and they let us use their conference room for the 16 of us. the food was great and the price was... More

When you enter the building, you feel like you're in a century old inn... because you are! The check-in area is also an old-fashioned bar. The rooms are upstairs (no elevator). A community great room area provides a feeling of a bed and breakfast. Our room had a nice queen bed with a renovated bathroom (Room 3). The TV was... More

Stopped in Friday evening for dinner. Great food and service at reasonable prices. We enjoyed the prime rib and catfish entrees. Located just off the main drag and worth the effort to find. Did not stay at the hotel, so cannot comment on accommodations. However, restaurant staff is always friendly and accommodating

We stayed in Room #5. It was comfortable but the train whistles every hour all night long made for a restless night's sleep. Overall, the inn is quaint and cozy. Decor is a bit too frilly and pink for my tastes, but we disregarded that. The "fine dining" experience was not "fine" by any means except for the prices. Our... More

Stayed here overnight because of bad weather and thank God that when we called this place, they had one room available. Of course without any hesitation we decided to book it!. It was a very good decision because when we got there a lot of people had been calling for a place to stay. When we got there, one thing... More

We were on vacation, flying to Utah in our single engine airplane. When we landed to refuel in Walsenburg, Colorado. We asked where a good place to eat would be and were told La Plaza Hotel. We had checked into another hotel, so went to dinner at the restaurant (see review of restaurant in the restaurant reviews). We were so... More

I really wanted to like the La Plaza Inn. It's in an area of Colorado I like, the website was well put together, all the amenities seemed to be there, it was located off the main highway, and had a restaurant on-site. The room I got was one of their biggest, a two bedroom suite, one room a well equipped... More

The unique, old building is decorated just so. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was great but the bed was old and squeaky. There is a railroad that runs just outside the hotel and between train whistles and the bed seeking with every move, it didn't allow for a great night of rest.
