I don't even want to try any other Vail hotels. My wife and I have stayed here twice. Our first visit was just perfect and I assumed that it could not be matched. I was wrong. Our most recent visit in May was even more enjoyable and the rooms and service both beyond our expectations. The owner says that he... More

Amazing service with beautiful luxurious rooms. Best hotel for a small conference. All the rooms have radiant heat in the bathrooms, often with huge jacuzzi tubs and separate showers. Beautiful French balconies and 3 great restaurants. Walking distance to slopes and everything in Vail.

This hotel is simply my favorite Vail hotel. It's character, service, and location are simply the best. It's golf course is quite stunning (when I played on it last year) and its Vail facilities are excellent. I have no complaints. None. That's very rare. If I could live in a hotel, I would live here. And, of course I would... More

from the valets to the breakfast servers, this hotel makes you feel welcome with sincere, excellent service. Rooms are spacious and appointed with nice amenities- I always forget how much I love turn down service . Ate at both the bully ranch and extensive hotel breakfast buffet and enjoyed both . Forget about the 5 star chains and enjoy this... More

We've stayed here four or five times now and come back every December for early ski season and to celebrate my husband's birthday; I would not stay anywhere else in Vail because I know it would be a disappointment compared to the Sonnenalp. The location to Vail Village gondola and the ski concierge are fantastic, plus the hotel has so... More

Second stay at this smaller hotel for a long weekend - excellent service and the best rooms. Fireplace in each room and nice sitting area - cookies and water delivered each evening. Great location and easy walking distance to adjoining areas. Only disappointment was quality of spa service (manicure) but staff very nice.

But I'm not sure I'd want to go back. Big, spacious room, but so cluttered with furniture it was awkward. Comfy beds, but lighting was so poor, couldn't read. And it's a "full service" hotel, so they want to do everything for you. Can't even get your own ice; you have to call the desk. So, of course, you end... More

The Austrian theme of this hotel is truly enchanting as is the staff, who treat you like a regular. The rooms are meticulously cleaned and the turn-down service is to be rivaled; complete with cookies and fresh flowers. The pool and the grounds are lovely (the indoor sauna and pool have the feel of a spa). The Sonnenalp is conveniently... More

We returned once again to our favorite hotel in Colorado for our anniversary weekend. We arrived early, and of course they had our room ready. Check in took about 30 seconds. They also gave us a room upgrade without having to ask! Room was perfect! Clean and cozy and just right! We had lunch in Bully ranch. They were busy... More

This hotel is privately owned & it shows in every detail. From the owner being present & accessible to the friendly & accommodating staff, you feel welcomed & appreciated the moment you arrive. The nightly entertainment provided in the lounge is quite enjoyable after a day spent sightseeing or skiing. The breakfast buffet is a splurge, but well worth the... More
