Vail already got $600 from me for my season pass, so I was determined they would not get another $30/day to park while skiing. I needed a place in town on the bus line, and the Roost was only $100/night for 4 nights. (actually $130 with a 4th night free sale) Closest alternative in the town of Vail was about... more

The Roost is not about atmosphere, it's about function. A good, close, clean, inexpensive place to rest your weary body before taking on all that Vail has to offer again the next day. It's right on the free bus route making getting to and from the Village very easy. If the natural designs of rock, snow and flora are more... more

This place is a total dump. Very uncomfortable, very dirty, there is nothing good about this place. This place is falling apart and the staff doesn't even care when you tell them what problem you have in your room. more

I've stayed at the Roost twice this month in order to avoid the dreaded I-70 weekend traffic back to Boulder and was quite pleased! This is not a hotel for people looking for upscale lodging- but there is plenty of that available in Vail. The rooms are basic but very clean, and the location is good- right on the busline... more

My trip to Vail had to be rearranged due to some business travel and the Manager was very accommodating in taking care of my problem. Would recommend the hotel to a friend. Great for a ski trip with friends, not where I would take a family on a trip. Have a realistic expectation of what you are paying for. In... more

I was in town for a conferences and, as like all other reviewers, needed to find a place that was more my price range rather than the other high priced hotels near vail and beaver creek. When first entering the lodge I was looking at exactly what I paid for cheap and functional. You would think that this would fall... more

OK folks, don't expect four star accomodations. When you buy a Hyundai, you don't expect the ride of a Mercedes. I came to TripAdvisor before booking, and knew what I was in store for. The reviews here are accurate. The place IS a dump, but it's reasonably clean and functional. The front desk folks are competent and friendly. Unlucky for... more

I booked the rooms for a two night stay. When we got there we were really dissapointed. The rooms were dirty had a bad odor and was small. The web site said pool but it was empty when we got there. Not happy we decided to leave a few hours later and go to another hotel. Before doing that i... more

At $70, this is very cheap for Vail. I found it to be quite okay for the price. But be sure to get a room at the back so as to avoid the worst of the noise from the interstate highway. The phone was a bit dodgy, but everything else worked okay. Room was reasonably clean and comfortable. Breakfast was... more

I spent a night at the Roost Lodge at the end of the ski season and all in all. I had a good experience there. The room was clean and comfortable, the location is four miles from Vail Village with a town bus stop nearby, and the staff were very professional. The only drawbacks were that HWY 70 is 100... more
