We had a very enjoyable night at this comfortable if unusual establishment with its odd hodge podge of decoration styles. The host was friendly, the bed comfortable, the shower the best we've had so far in Utah and Colorado and the price fine. Enjoyed a fine walk to the Dexter historic deserted house and hotel across the lake and a... More

We stayed here inadvertently when we were unable to cross Mount Elbert to make our first night's hotel reservation in Aspen due to snow. The price was great and we appreciated the 'green' aspects of the lodge. Breakfast is light, but it was nice to have a good assortment of fruit. The view outside is incredible. Overall we were grateful... More

We had a wonderful time staying with Steve and Constance at this B&B. Coffee and cinnamon rolls were delicious. I thought it was great that the cinnamon rolls are baked fresh, the sheets are air dried, and all of the toiletries are biodegradable. If you are celebrating a special occasion, let Constance know and she will bake you a cake.... More

Our room was modern, clean and very pleasant. After our planned hike was rained out, we decided to walk to the next door Inn for an early 5:00 dinner. We had been told reservations were "recommended". We should have been told they were required, as we were refused seating in the more than 1/2 empty restaurant. Since host Steve had... More

This was my second stay here and it was wonderful again! The room was very comfortable and clean and the food is outstanding! Constance and Steve are very knowledgable about the area and can help you plan your hiking. This is a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful mountains and serene lake!

a bunch of us (ie we filled all rooms but one) as our jumping off point for our mt elbert hike. Constance was right on in her council re: how long the hike would take and even put out some munchies for our 5:30 a.m. start (regular breakfast time is 7:30, I think). We had a lovely dinner on the... More

This is a small little place that you stay at either for the solitude, or like myself, to climb Mt. Elbert. I booked the little detached cabin. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The owners were extremely nice and accommodating. You should probably bring as much of your own food as possible as the food served by the owners is... More

As innkeepers ourselves I look for certain things that make me comfortable. This lodge had clean, comfy rooms in a very quaint setting with marvelous cinnamon rolls for breakfast. So glad we opted to stay overlooking the lake in the historic hamlet of Twin Lakes. A pleasant drive to Leadville to enjoy the historic mining town and ruins nearby. Wish... More

We had the pleasure of being the first couple to stay in the newly opened Swede Studio cabin. What a treat! Steve and Constance have transformed an old miner's cabin into a beautiful modern cabin. The placement of the numerous windows allowed us to enjoy the breathtaking mountain and lake views from many directions. After staying here what was supposed... More

Ok, so yes I was looking for a place to camp out while acclimating for that Leadville thing, and came across this place to stay. It's about 20 min from town but worth it. Great cabin, with kitchen, super comfy bed, quiet and peaceful. The restaurant next door is great. Good food and wine!
