a bunch of us (ie we filled all rooms but one) as our jumping off point for our mt elbert hike. Constance was right on in her council re: how long the hike would take and even put out some munchies for our 5:30 a.m. start (regular breakfast time is 7:30, I think). We had a lovely dinner on the... More

This is a small little place that you stay at either for the solitude, or like myself, to climb Mt. Elbert. I booked the little detached cabin. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The owners were extremely nice and accommodating. You should probably bring as much of your own food as possible as the food served by the owners is... More

As innkeepers ourselves I look for certain things that make me comfortable. This lodge had clean, comfy rooms in a very quaint setting with marvelous cinnamon rolls for breakfast. So glad we opted to stay overlooking the lake in the historic hamlet of Twin Lakes. A pleasant drive to Leadville to enjoy the historic mining town and ruins nearby. Wish... More

We had the pleasure of being the first couple to stay in the newly opened Swede Studio cabin. What a treat! Steve and Constance have transformed an old miner's cabin into a beautiful modern cabin. The placement of the numerous windows allowed us to enjoy the breathtaking mountain and lake views from many directions. After staying here what was supposed... More

Ok, so yes I was looking for a place to camp out while acclimating for that Leadville thing, and came across this place to stay. It's about 20 min from town but worth it. Great cabin, with kitchen, super comfy bed, quiet and peaceful. The restaurant next door is great. Good food and wine!

We had a very pleasant stay at the end of September. The scenery is stunning in twin lakes and the aspens were a gorgeous yellow. For peace and quiet the area can't be beat. The lodge itself is clean and comfortable. We stayed in room 2 and the bedroom was a bit small. The bathroom was down a short, private... More

First and foremost, Constance and Steve do an incredible job of making you feel welcome and making sure you have everything you need for a fantastic stay; second, Twin Lakes Roadhouse sits in the perfect spot, giving you a front-door view of the magnificent aspens, pines, lakes and mountains surrounding it. Just finished a spectacular four-day stay and wouldn't hesitate... More

This year we planned to stay in Estes Park, but due to the flooding in that area, we decided to try some other places in Colorado. We drove to Leadville, CO and stopped at the National Forest Ranger Station to ask them some questions about climbing the tallest mountain in Colorado, Mt. Elbert. They were giving us information about that... More

My husband and I were on our way home to California from our road trip to Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Deadwood, and Mount Rushmore.....we just needed a place for the night. I like to stay in places with history and ambience. I prefer the character and charm they provide and have found them to not usually cost anymore than typical hotels.... More
