The New Sheridan Hotel is fantastic. Not only was our room lovely, and newly renovated, but the bathroom had heated tile floors! It was a great place to stay when in Telluride. The hot tub was always empty, which made for a nice evening after a day of skiing or shopping. Everything is walkable from there too. I ate breakfast... more

Pulled into town on a Thursday night, with no reservations. Needed room for one night. Stopped at Central Reservations. Told her it was just me, one night, didn't want to spend a fortune. She said I was in luck, she had a room at (I heard) the new Sheraton up the street. What did I know? At $139, the price... more

My husband chose this hotel because he likes staying in historic hotels. I was skeptical from the get-go because I hate small rooms with fussy furniture. I do give the New Sheridan considerable credit for making the rooms as modern and nice as possible while respecting the historical nature of the place. They did a great job in particular of... more

This hotel is centrally located on the main street of Telluride. It has a popular bar downstairs. However, the hotel manager is more concerned about selling alcohol than providing hospitable, efficient service to the guests. Hotel staff are also very friendly to their local friends, preferring to leave the guests feeling like interlopers. Not good. The rooms with a view... more

This was our second stay and it was as good as the first! A nice breakfast is included, the location is the best and the roof top hot tubs are great! Skiing is just a short walk and there are lots of resturaunts close by. Staff was friendly and very helpful. more

We just returned from a 4 day/3 night stay at the New Sheridan. The staff at the hotel were extremely pleasant and professional. We can't say enough good things about Nate, the concierge/valet---he was exceptional. The lobby bar is charming and the restaurant in the hotel was quite good. We stayed in a front room that, while not overly spacious,... more

The hotel is recently and beautifully remodeled. The decor is consistent with the hotel's age, 100+, but neverthless thoroughly modern, functional, and convenient. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful; they all seem to enjoy their work. The hotel is right in the middle of the Telluride historic district, near all the great restaurants and ambiance. There is also a... more

I have mixed feelings on my stay at the New Sheridan. The rates were $250/night for a reguar room, but $150/night for the same type of room with no bathroom. You end up using a shared bathroom dorm-style down the hall. We figured why not? The problem was, the ladies 3rd floor shared bathroom smelled like sewage and I could... more

Management response from
Mary Paoli Paoli, public relations agency representative

The New Sheridan underwent a significant, multi-million dollar renovation between April 2008 and December 2008. During the renovation a private bathroom was added to every guest room. Extensive sound proofing was also added during this time. Overall, the renovation brought a new level of luxury to all 26 guest rooms, public spaces and the Chop House restaurant. Hotel management consulted...

We stayed in the New Sheridan Dec.28-Jan.2 & it was very pleasant. My fiance had stayed there once before, but my sister & I had never been. I loved the historical style of the building & while it has been restored nicely, they still had modern convieniences. The breakfast was great---coffee, teas, juice, cereal, fruit, oatmeal that is kept heated... more

I loved my stay at the New Sheridan. The breakfasts were amazing... the snacks in the late afternoon... the location... the public areas... it was great! I just didn't like the noise... and that overall the rooms were a bit smaller than I'm accustomed to. But, overall, I really enjoyed my time here. I would definitely stay here again... mostly... more
