Stayed five nights during August. This is a place you take when nothing else is available and yet the price doesn't reflect the basic offerings it provides- bed, shower, toilet and tv. There isn't anyone on site after 5pm and one night there was a fight in the building quite scary. Best non-recommendation= 5 day stay and no one came... More

We tried to stay here but the office closes at 5. There is a number to call but no one picked up. It would have been helpful to know this information ahead of time. For travelers on a whim this is not a dependable place. The exterior looked nice, wish we could've made it work.

What a wonderful experience here. It was clean, the room was large, as was the bathroom (which lacked a tub), but there was no breakfast. Large hot tub outside and great coffee! The staff was lovely and I would definitely stay here again. Note: the lower level rooms cannot hear or see the river outside and it is slightly outdated... More

We thank you for your kind review. You are correct about the showers. In our Condominiums, all but our three bedroom unit are showers only. The three bedroom features three full bathrooms, two of which has bathtubs. We hope you come back anytime you can and during the winter (very soon now) we will be bringing back our winter "Protein... This is an older hotel with both smaller hotel type rooms and larger units with kitchens, bedrooms, etc. I have stayed there twice in the last three months and really enjoyed hearing the river out our room window along with the quiet setting by the side of the mountain and within walking distance to everything. Although the hotel is older... More

You are proof that all Mountainside Inn goers are above average, very intelligent and highly discerning. We thank you for your review and hope you can come and ski with us this winter. I am already looking out my window at 30" of fresh snow and blue skies. WOOHOO!!!!! Sincerely, Heather White More

Mountainside Inn has rooms which they allow pets for an extra $30. This fee seemed high compared to the rest of our vacation travel hotels which was typically $10. We stayed in room 220 in the same building as the check-in area. We had requested King bed and it was set up as 2 twin beds so we simply moved... More

Thank you for your review and we are always happy to see travellers with their pups. Each property has to set policy and fee to accommodate an ever increasing number of guests who travel with pets. For Mountainside Inn, Telluride's version of an economy accommodation, we set this fee keeping in mind the extra cleaning that we provide for pet... More

Wow, what a throwback to a bygone era! Pet friendly, but a bit scary as you ponder just what fluids created the multitude of stains on the carpet. Functional, basic accommodations. Reminded me of the tourist hostels seen throughout Europe. A hundred bucks more will get you five star lodging just up the street, but this place was full, so... More

Thank you for your review. While the Mountainside Inn has the advantage of economy it is true that the carpets are under review for replacement under a capital improvement program in the near future. Our housekeepers do work hard to keep our units clean and stain free so if there was a problem, I do apologize. The products we use... More

My wife and I had never been to Telluride. This property is off the main drag and it's quiet near a stream. Our unit was #416 which faced the mountain. Open the window and you hear a whole lot of nature. For a very expensive ski town, the Mountainside is a value. The rooms are clean and the staff is... More

We stayed for 2 nights and had a great experience! It's right by the river and our room faced the mountain, so it was great waking up to the mountain view and fresh, cool air (we had the windows open at night). We got one of the smaller rooms with a queen bed and a twin bed for 3 of... More

No one tells you about the $30 pet fee. That is not pet friendly. Pet friendly is allowing pets for free. I work all around the country take my dogs everywhere and pet friendly doesn't charge. The parking is horrible here the 100 rules you have to go by makes you feel like your in prison. I don't know if... More

We are sorry you had this experience. We are obligated to do extra cleaning for guests who bring pets to ensure that the rooms are immaculate and there is a cost associated with this. We also are up front about the fee with our third party bookings as well as direct bookings and we send prearrival emails that clearly state... More

This hotel was in a great location and a good value for Telluride. We were looking for an inexpensive hotel for our one night visit in Telluride and this place fit the bill. The room was perfect for 3 people (queen bed and a twin) and had a small kitchenette.
