What we got: 1 King Bed, TV, VCR, Free Movies, Free Ski Check, Pool and Hot Tub, Free Internet, Free Parking The room was clean, although older but still looked good. As advertised you can ski in and out. Our view was of the parking lot and pool area which was fine with us, we were there to ski not... More

My husband and I just spent 4 nights at the Ptarmigan for a Spring Break ski trip. The thing that most sticks in my mind is that the service was absolutely wonderful. All the staff were so helpful and friendly, food and drink at the Snowbird restaurant/bar (great breakfast!) can be charged to your room, and the ski valet service... More

returned for the 10th year in row and happy to see the ptarmigan inn is still providing consistently friendly, comfortable, and memorable steamboat vacation experience. the staff is like a second family with lots of the same faces year after year. service is exceptional, far better than you'd expect for a value property, and the location has only gotten better... Nice sized room for two people, very convenient ski-in location. Very friendly staff; room was very clean and housekeeping did a good job. Also convenient for brief walk to restaurants at bottom of ski mountain. Room refrigerator and table were of sufficient size to have breakfast in room each morning before skiing; City Market was a short free bus ride... More

This place is WAY overpriced!! It is dingy, outdated, and cramped. The beds are hard, the pillows are lumpy, the towels are scratchy, and the walls are thin - we could hear people in other rooms coughing a sneezing! I expected much more for the money.

We definately liked the location! It is located right on the slopes at the base of the mountian near the lifts. Great location. It was clean, the employees were friendly, the restaurant had great food and a happy hour. They also have a ski shop in the hotel and will store your ski's. A restaurant in the hotel is very... We booked a room at the Ptarmigan Inn for one night on our way to our vacation destination. The next day we realized we left a very important personal item in the room, my wifes car keys. We called the front desk and was assured the item would be mailed to us. Upon returning home to Denver a week later,... More

super experience from the start, res staff was excellant and took the time to describe property, ammenities, and location. upon arrival we weren't let down as the check-in process was also warm, friendly, welcoming and informative. hotel is certainly an older property, but the location was absolutely amazing. we know ski-in/ski-out has become a popular term with questionable interpretation, however,... My sister & I wanted to getaway from Denver for labor day weekend, got a reasonable rate last minute for the Best Western Ptarmigan. When we arrived around 8pm, we checked into our room which was hard to navigate through the hallways, I got lost once. When we arrived at our room, we double check all the sheets before settling... We take input and guest comments very seriously here at The Ptarmigan Inn. Unfortunately this is a false accusation. The hotel has a commercial pest control program with a nationally recognized service provider. Monthly inspections and abatement procedures are performed by trained professionals. The hotel has never in it's 30+ year history had an incident of bedbugs. The comfort and... More

We booked this hotel from the Steamboat Springs Reservation Group and feel this property is completely overated and overpriced. Yeah, maybe it was stylish in the 70's, but when was the last time you saw salmon colored formica in a bathroom? The beds were hard and the pillows were crushed. Our "slopeside" room, #220, was in the basement, with a... More
