Clean, comfortable, and in the middle of ski area. Could use updating. Evident in reception area with the old crt monitors on the customer use computers! Price reflected the stay, but I would be amiss if I didn't mention that convenience to ski amenities and village could not be closer! Breakfast ok.

Yes the hotel is old and out dated compared to the new surrounding hotels but the location is great and the rooms are surprisingly big and accommodating. The real problem here is the management of Ben Franko. Not only was Ben unable to keep his credit card machine working, but when his system was unable to charge my card he... More

Horrible experience one of the worse ever. Carpets are dirty, TV is dusty. Horrible customer service. Needless to say this is my last time here. Free breakfast no thanks my dog eats better breakfast then this. Charged my credit card without my knowledge then spoke to me like I was stupid.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and on the second night, came home from the rodeo at 10 pm with two sleepy/sleeping children when our hotel key didn't work. After multiple attempts and 45 minutes of the hotel staff trying to change our key cards, use the master key, call the manager, etc (all while we had sleeping... More

This is a great location for the $$. Convenient access to all the lifts. Nice little swimming pool and hot tub. Solid service from the Front Desk too. Driveway is a bit hidden and the parking is limited.

This really is a throwback ski hotel. It's sooo convenient to the snow, I can't complain. The hotel's age is more worthy of a laugh than a critical review. If you're looking for a romantic spot to stay in Steamboat, this is... not it. If you're looking for an inexpensive and convenient place to maximize ski time, Ptarmigan Inn is... More

Over the past two decades, I've been on a Steamboat Springs ski trip about every four years. Every time but one, I've stayed at the Ptarmigan Inn. It's biggest draw is the fact that it's truly ski-in and ski-out. Once you step out of the hotel, you walk about 20 feet, put on your skis and ski right down to... More

So well positioned but so old and tired, and waiting to be closed when economic conditions Favour a redevelopment. Tiny rooms with ancient furniture. Watch out for the trap on the website which advertises remodeled rooms. She we checked in it was clear no remodeling has been done and to their credit they refunded us the higher rate we'd paid... My family stayed here for a weekend ski trip. If your reason for staying at the hotel is proximity to the slopes and base, then you won't be disappointed. We never had to drive our vehicle until we left Steamboat, we had all amenities at the hotel or other restaurants and shops near the at the ski village. The lobby... More

My family and I stayed here over a weekend. We booked a standard room with 2 queens. Our room was on the fourth floor and gave a nice view of one of the KVC Magic carpets. It is very dated. The beds, and decor look like they've been around. The food in the restaurant was ok, far from anything we... More
