Stayed one night in the Alpiner recently. The room is a decent size and is clean, but it is very dated and tired. The property definitely needs an update, and if you compare it to chain hotels in this price range (around $100 a night), it doesn't compare facilities- or amenities-wise (no flat-screen TV, no pool, no breakfast, no updates,... We stayed two nights at the Alpiner, The room was large, the bed comfortable, and most of all the room was clean. The lady that manages the Alpiner is a wealth of information on things to do and see. It is in the middle of the main part of town, walking distance to shops and restaurants. The city runs a... More

The Alpiner is an old hotel, but very clean and well run. You can not beat the location. It is in the very heart of town. The manager of the place, Loy, acts as your own personal concierge. She gets to know her guests personally, and makes you feel like you're staying at her house. Just what I expected from... More

Stayed here for two nights in late feb and had a great stay. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly and gave me good pointers on where to get good mexican food. The Lodge is right down town and a short walk away from most restaurants. Another bonus is that the bus stop is directly across the street and a... More

The Alpiner is a very simple motor lodge, basic beds, small bathroom, older decor. However, it is in a great location downtown. We walked everywhere in town and only had to take an easy 10 min bus to the slopes. By far, the best part of this place is Loy, the woman that runs it. Our flights were cancelled due... More

Loy, the owner?, is very nice and bends over backwards to make you comfortable. The lodge is in a great location, an easy walk (even in the snow) to many good restaurants and bars. It is only 3 miles from downhill skiing! There is a free bus that stops right in front of the lodge in case you don't want... More

Loy helped us with our stay and was more than accommodating. She treated us like family, was warm and welcoming, and gave us great information. It's a very down home, cozy place to stay and it's located right down town and right across the street from the bus stop. It only takes ten minutes to get to the mountain. Will... More

We decided to go to Steamboat for a long weekend. We chose the Alpiner Lodge because it allowed dogs. The price was just over $100/night, which is great for Steamboat during peak season. The owner, Loy (I believe that was her name) was so accommodating and very pleasant. On the Monday when we were supposed to check out, my boyfriend... More

Just spent a great weekend in Steamboat at the Alpiner Lodge. I work under the assumption that a hotel room is a hotel room is a hotel room, it will never be as nice as my own home, and I don't expect it to. That being said, the people are what make the Alpiner a hotel I would recommend. We... More
