From my initial research on Trip Advisor, to making reservations with Kathy and her informative email confirming my reservation, to checking in with Barb, the Woodland Motel stood out a s a winner. The arrival at this immaculately kept motel was stellar! One is immediately taken by the beautifully groomed hanging baskets and shrubs (they dead-head daily), the lovely and... More

We stayed at the motel sunday night, 5/20/14, and were amazed at the value for the price. It was very clean; beds were great; very pet friendly. They offered us a pet dish and even a pet bed! Several conveniences were included that you don't get in chain hotels; kitchen with full size stove; full size refrigerator; paper towels in... More

Stayed overnight in a small suite, with its own kitchen, large refrigerator and flat screen TV. The room was spotlessly clean, the towels and bed linens were bright white and appeared to be fairly new. The overall decor is modest, but functional; the bed was very comfortable and the room had been cooled before my arrival. I was able to... More

Recently spent a couple of nights in Salida to attend the bluegrass festival. Also wanted/had some extra time to explore the city, especially the downtown area. I did NOT want to stay in one of the chain hotels out on the highway - noise, boring, have to drive to downtown. The Woodland is 6 or 7 blocks from downtown, so... More

We were going to stay for four nights and ended up staying for six. Loved Salida, loved the Woodland. Complete kitchen, fully equipped. Nice big rooms -stayed in 18 and 19. Reasonably quiet except for refrigerator in 19. Very clean on arrival. The room rates are explained as providing discounts for multiple nights, but the discount really is for not... More

The woodland is a great stop in Salida. Nothing special in terms of facilities, but super friendly staff. No charge for pets and a great place to walk the dog down to the river across the street. And unlike the bulk of the other Salida hotels, it's not on the big highways -- instead is actually in the old (real)... More

There are newer hotels on the highway if that's what you want, but these folks are very sweet and they enjoy visiting pets. The room was super clean, the bed was very comfortable and the location was great. They are set up for pets and they offer dog walking for a small fee. No bad pet smells in the room... More

This motel was suggested to me by friends based upon its proximity to where our function was being held. I was very pleased with the cleanliness, very friendly staff, and the location which was less than 2 minutes from downtown. I could hear a dog barking through the heating vents. Just served as a reminder that this is a pet... More

As others have described, a little dated and small but very well kept. Obvious attention to keeping things clean. The price was $54, week night, off season (January). I stayed on the bottom floor, room # 20. There was at least one group on the upper level but I could barely tell anyone was there. Much better than most modern... More

You'll probably think I'm family from this review but I'm just a traveler. This is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Not super fancy but yet still modern and clean with very friendly staff even late at night. The highlight is the pet policy. Other so-called "pet-friendly" hotels should look to this property to see how it's done.... More
