We stayed at the Woodland Motel on March 29 and April 5 on our way to and from Santa Fe, NM. We made reservations there based on TA reviews and being pet friendly. On their website, the owners strongly advise looking at the room pictures since some of them are small. In reality, our rooms were more spacious than the...

We've been staying at the Woodland Motel for about 5 years; just stayed there about 10 days ago. All the staff -- from the desk to housekeeping -- has always greeted our dog with a "welcome" dog biscuit to a pat on the head. We (the “people” guests) were treated with the same warmth and congeniality, too (“sans” dog biscuit,...

This place is very nice and I was really surprised by how nice the room especially the bed was. The bathroom was a little small but did not bother me but know it could bother others. The bed was absolutely fantastic for me who needs a nice soft bed. My dog was very excited with all the extra room. Unfortunately...

Great little motel for the money only 5 minute walk to down town Salida. 1st it must be said this is a motel so there is not a lot of frills, that being said the winter rate was only 50 a night, and that was with my 65 pound Golden Retriever. They were very welcoming of my dog, and gave...

We came across the Woodland Motel because we wanted to stay off the main highway - somewhere quieter. It worked out well. We stayed here for a few days while we explored trails in the area - great "base camp". The room wasn't fancy, but it was spacious for a motel and, all in all, quite comfortable.

On a recent trip to Salida, a local recommended the Woodland Motel to me. I had only been familiar with the chain motels out on busy US50. the Woodland is located just a couple blocks from historic, charming and friendly central Salida. There is a wonderful selection of restaurants, brew pubs, and coffee shops within walking distance. The motel is...

We stayed here a few weeks back. The people are very nice. We were tired, and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. I cannot tell you how much that meant after a hectic day. They greeted our dogs with treats, thjey love dogs and it shows! My dogs give this place two thumbs up....

We travel with our dog and have stayed at the Woodland several times. Not only do they allow her to stay, but they truly welcome her! They even offered us dog bowls and a dog bed. Not many places in this part of Colorado allow pets at all. The rooms are all clean, quiet and reasonably priced and the summer...

My wife and I wanted to take a road trip with our two dogs during the end of the year holiday break. Wanting to avoid the highways, we chose Salida because it is located the perfect distance from Denver for a casual drive and an overnight stay. We also wanted to avoid the national chain hotels, and other local hotels...
