We stayed in the Palace Hotel for two nights, and found it to be generally satisfactory, with a few caveats. The hotel is located in downtown Salida, directly across from the park and the Arkansas river. Salida is quite small, so it's very easy to walk around the few blocks that comprise the downtown area. You'll find lots of interesting... More

From the initial phone call to reserve the room until checkout, this was a wonderful experience! Very gracious and accommodating staff........they gave us great ideas for activities, brought breakfast to our room and ensured that we had a great time in Salida. The hotel itself has been lovingly well cared for and the surroundings are clean, pleasant and beautiful. Our... More

This hotel is a real gem.It is well located, the rooms are fabulous and the hosts cannot do enough for you. A quality continental breakfast is brought to your suite in the morning. Why is the Palace Hotel not listed with other Salida hotels? This is a great place! The location, in the heart of the historic/creative district, by the Arkansas River, across the street from a park, in sight of Tenderfoot Mountain, is perfect. Our 3rd floor suite consisted of a huge room with a comfortable sitting area, convenient full kitchen/eating area,... More

We arrived in Salida late one night without a place to stay with two children under 6 in tow, along with my father in law. As we approached the hotel, the exterior was instantly charming and inviting. The staff on duty were very friendly and assured us they had a perfect room for our party of 5. It turned out... More

The Palace, built in 1909, is right on Salida's main street, right across from a park and the Arkansas river. In addition to the great location it has been beautifully restored. My room was spacious and nicely furnished with comfortable period style furnishings. The kitchenette was a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the light continental breakfast delivered to my... More

Stayed one night at Palace Hotel with friend for a mom's getaway. The room was so lovely and comfortable, yummy (but light) breakfast brought to our room, staff was extremely welcoming, location is fantastic. Look forward to staying again.

Stayed here twice. Great visit, great location, great staff! Pricey for Salida, but it was well appointed and worked for us. Note: lots of stairs to hike. If you come in the summer, the AC window units are somewhat taxed out for the rooms, and the complimentary yogurt parfait makes for only a light breakfast. But, we would return.

We had a 2 week Holiday in USA. Spent a fortune on hotels, rating from 2 stars to 5. LA, Las Vegas, Colorado... This is the best! Really beautiful and charming old hotel. Lovely rooms, clean and the staff really helpful, This is the Place where you should go. No fancy gimmicks, just a place where you feel welcome. Excellent!
