My husband and I stayed here for a romantic mid-winter vacation. We stayed in the railroad room. The location was great. We like that the place is historical. And the breakfast was very good. The bed was very comfortable. There are full kitchens in each room, which is nice. I will say though that it does not look as nice... More

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the historical aspect of the hotel as well as the breakfast we provide. Salida is generally a quiet town but there are times when outside noise makes it's way in. We are in the process of adding double pane windows to the front of the hotel to help... More

We unfortunately were unable to stay here but we did tour the hotel while we were in Salida. My Uncle once owned the hotel so it was great to see how they were able to restore it to it's full glory. We stayed here many times as children. Even though it had been sold we wanted our daughters to experience... More

Salida is a small oasis of culture and western ambiance. The Arkansas river runs through the picturesque downtown. The palace is a great place to stay. It is a classic old western downtown hotel with great improvements. Each room is really like an apartment with a separate bed room. The furnishings fit right in. Folks that run the hotel are... By any other measure, this historic hotel is appointed in great style. But, my grandmother would have been so very impressed. I don't know what is involved in taking a 100 year old hotel and giving it a face lift, but when you see it, you know they did it right.

My husband and I recently spent several days at the Palace Hotel and could not have been more pleased with the suite or the service! It was lovely, clean, charming, and the people were so helpful and friendly! I would highly recommend Salida as a town to visit and the Palace Hotel as the place to stay while there!

The staff was wonderful and very helpful. Apparently the managers have changed since I was last there two years ago, but the hotel is still as good as I remembered it. It is centrally located in the beautiful downtown so once you check in there isn't any need to drive for dinner, drinks etc.

This is a beautiful hotel located in historic downtown Salida. We arrived and Lenny welcomed us, told us everything we needed to know about the layout of the hotel, and then talked with us about some of his favorite restaurants as he gave us a lay of the land. Our room was a suite with a kitchenette stocked with freshly... More

This renovated historic hotel paid attention to the details that matter to me. The staff was intent on making our stay pleasurable. The organic coffee in our room was delicious. The lemongrass/sage soap was fabulous. Breakfast was delivered to our room on a glass dish that was wrapped in a tea towel; loved that touch! The bed was a little... More

We stayed at this hotel a few months ago and still talk about this hotel as one of the worst hotel experiences we have had in terms of price relative to value. First the hotel is "historic" and with that comes stained carpets and a general musty smell. The included breakfast was extremely average. The hotel does have a good... More

This is a historic hotel, so it does not have the amenities that you will find at a Holiday Inn (on site parking, swimming pool, etc.) However, the rooms are beautifully restored, the linens are great quality and warm, the staff is wonderfully helpful, and the breakfast (included and delivered to your room in the morning) is delicious. I loved... More
