Fam. of 4 stayed in a large room over spring break of this somewhat older but very clean and good smelling Motel for $59. Owners were very friendly and kind. Rooms had plenty of towels and even some (fake) roses. The hot tub is new and wonderful. The owners even gave us some extra outlets to plug in our electric... More

A typical American mom-and-pop roadside motel. A little run down but everything works. Clean enough, comfortable enough. Attractive pricing compared to the other properties in town. If you just need a bed for the night this will do. More

This was our second stay at the Aspen Leaf and we were very happy with our stay on both visits. The rooms are very large and clean and very affordable. They have a very large hot tub and nice deck area. The owners were friendly and accomodating - they also offer discount lift tickets for Monarch Ski area. We will... More

We were expecting an older hotel that was clean. Instead we got an older hotel that was pretty dirty. Not filthy, but stuff like chest-level lights in the bathroom were caked in dust. The chairs in the room were badly stained and looked nasty. It was nice having the fridge, microwave, and wireless, but that was all negated by the... More

On a cross-country camping/road trip mid-March, after days of snow-camping...we got hit with a sideways-blowing ice-storm and could barely see to drive. So we pulled over in Salida and commenced driving around looking for a cheap place to crash...all the hotels, even the run-down fleabag ones were around $70 and most of the front desk people weren't even polite. Ready... More

We spent one night at this hotel as part of our road trip through Colorado. It was ok, reasonable value for money and the staff were very friendly. More

My boyfriend and I visit Salida on a regular basis (he has a Monarch Mountain season pass) and have stayed with the Aspen Leaf on two occasions - once in February of 2007 and the second time in November of 2007. In February we got a great corner room with two double beds, these cute built-ins, and a nice bathroom.... More

I get up to Salida once or twice a year, and stayed at this motel two or three times. It was clean, neat, quiet (although that depends on which room you have; it's on a fairly busy road), and the maintenance was good. However, the last time I stayed there I requested a no-smoking room, but when I opened the... More

I'm a single woman traveling alone. I've stayed at this hotel three times since 2002. Each time I receive exactly what is promised: helpful owners, comfortable accommodations, reasonable pricing, and a feeling of safety. (The hotel has demonstrated that it doesn't allow problem customers to stay very long. ) I will be visiting Salida at Christmas, 2006, and intend to... More

We have stopped often at the Aspen Leaf Lodge over the past ten years. The rooms are always clean and warm. It is a great place to stop for a skiing holiday at Monarch Pass. The hot tub is always welcoming after a hard day on the slopes. The management has always been polite and responsive to any requests we... More
