Stayed the 'retro camper' for two nights to use as a base for a weekend of mountain biking. Perfectly content in the small space, super clean and nice views from porch. Hot tub was key after getting caught in afternoon downpour. Nice lodge to catch up on emails via Wi-Fi, great barista makes outstanding lattes. Nice breakfast sunday morning before... More

The MGI is a treat. We stayed in the Mt Princeton room which was a great size and nicely appointed. The inn keeper was very friendly and served up an unexpectedly delicious breakfast. We awoke to the sound of a rooster crowing which was a hoot and got a tutorial on goat milking. Fun indeed. And, try Fritz's in Salida... More

Really good breakfasts. (Chilaquiles were AWESOME!) Really nice deck out back with an inspiring view of mountains plus goats, chickens, a llama and hummingbirds. Pretty convenient to downtown Salida. Bummers: fire alarms went off several times one night between 2-4 in the morning and again the next afternoon. Very unpleasant inconvenience. We found our room very hot and uncomfortable at... More

I knew I was in good hands with the booking procedures and followup FAQ. The attention to detail was followed through with our charming and clean room. Gina is warm, helpful and went out of her way to accommodate our earlier departures to provide us with breakfasts. Would have loved to hang out with the goats but her sweet dogs... More

It was our first time at the Mountain Goat Lodge and we will be back! It's a very comfortable place. The owners made us feel right at home. Gina was very accommodating with my diet restrictions, and the breakfast she made was delicious! Not to mention the yummy and included coffee drinks!! We loved the relaxed atmosphere and the peaceful... More

We stayed a couple of nights at this B&B and had a comfortable stay. The property has goats and chickens, and we enjoyed being able to watch the goats play and the chickens roam. Breakfast was good and plentiful. This is a dog friendly property. The owner has two dogs who spend their time in the communal gathering areas (breakfast... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are always grateful for feedback and constantly strive to make the customer feel at home and also to improve our guest experience. What can we say about the animals? We do make it perfectly clear we are pet-friendly, and are actually a little farm. There are lots of animals,... More

We rented the entire Mountain Goat Lodge for a long family weekend. It was a perfect choice. The lodge ( large log cabin with high ceilings and gorgeous views ) was more than we expected. Each room upstairs were spacious and had small private baths and all rooms had balconies with beautiful views. The bottom two "suites" were huge with... More

Thank you so much for your great review! We are glad your family was able to relax and enjoy our little slice of heaven. The goats are entertaining and a valuable education for kids to see where the milk and eggs come from. We are always delighted when a group or family reunion makes the effort to get together. I... We just returned from a two night stay at the Mountain Goat Lodge. I would recommend this bed and breakfast in Salida without hesitation. The lodge itself is just the right size, not too big, not too small, with a beautifully appointed great room and kitchen. The rooms are fresh, airy and clean. Our hosts, Gina and D`Arcy, are friendly,... More

I admit to thinking of many B&Bs...especially in New England...as places where fastidious, aloof people sit around drinking tea and reading the NY Times...not that there's anything wrong with it! Well, Mountain Goat Lodge is a different animal: it welcomes people, children, and pets, and has plenty for families to do! The rooms are spacious, comfortable, well equipped with great... More

THANK you for such a nice and interesting review! We try to make sure we are not "stuffy". No lace curtains or doilies here. Thank you for mentioning all the fun things we have on our property - from the barn, the hot tub, the green house and now the retro trailer park! Speaking of Lucy and Desi, we are... More
