We recently stayed at The Thomas House, where we have stayed several times over the last several years. We loved it even more. It is beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and very welcoming. It is like coming home, with the great added advantage of the warm hospitality of Tammy and Steve. The breakfasts are delicious. And then there is Salida! What... More

Steve and Tammy (the owners) were nice people. But I was disappointed with the home. I enjoy viewing the homes, viewing antiques etc. We parked in front of the home, bicycles and toys outside everywhere. We were not given a tour of the home, we couldn't walk past the front entry and dining area and up the stairs. Tammy or... More

We enjoyed our stay at this bed and breakfast. They had a room that accommodated our party of three, had a delicious breakfast that fueled our days activities and Tammy and Steve were friendly hosts. We would definitely stay here again when in Salida. The value for your money is much better than any of the chain hotels in town! More

To make our road trip less hectic driving from Denver to Santa Fe, we planned a one-night layover in Salida, CO which would also give us a chance to visit the Great Sand Dunes only about an hours drive away. We chose the Thomas House Bed and Breakfast as one of about 4 or 5 B&Bs in Salida. It was... More

Stayed here for two days and the place is very quaint. The owners (Tammy and Steve) live across the road but the place is full of stuff and looks and feels like an old Victorian House. Our room was fairly basic and a little compact. Several of the other guests were repeated customers. Tammy and Steve are very friendly. The... More

Our room was beautiful and very clean. We were a little uncomfortable with the location due to the apartment house on one corner with old cars and people standing around outside. Breakfast was disappointing. We had expected more than a waffle and ham. There was lots of clutter in the common rooms downstairs, I felt that it probably hadn't been... More

The owners, Steve and Tammy, were very friendly and welcoming and gave good restaurant recommendations. We enjoyed sitting on their front porch having a beer and visiting with them. Breakfasts are really nice - french toast one morning and biscuits and gravy the next, with cold cereal, coffee, tea, juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast and bagels available. Beds are comfortable,... The cottage in the back was very nice. It had a comfortable king bed with comfortable pillows. We slept very well in this bed! The shower had great water pressure. The host family was very nice and helpful. The breakfasts were very good - the homemade muffins were outstanding. The location was excellent - right in downtown. We were able... More

Stay here if you want to experience warm hospitality, great breakfast, and a short walk to the abundant galleries, shops, restaurants and Arkansas River-side access of "downtown" Salida. We have stayed in the "cottage" out back as well as in rooms in the house. All are nicely done with quality furnishings, linens and amenities. The funky hot tub/covered patio are... More

Thomas House located in Salida is only one hour away from Grand Sand Dune NP. It is also convenient to get to Colorado Springs. We originally booked one night at Thomas House but couldn't help booking another night after our stay. Tammy and Steve, as well as their cute Patch, are so warmhearted and helpful! The rooms are cozy and... More
