Don't expect a fancy, hyper-modern, chain motel, this is an old-school, family owned motel. The Big Valley is a great place to stay, with amenities including a hospitable owner, friendly small town, comfortable beds, the occasional deer wandering by, and the opportunity to meet some great people. I've spent at least one month here, over the course of two business... More

Very clean, comfortable and the price is right. Excellent, friendly service as well in a great little town. We made a reservation ahead of time and our room was waiting on arrival. We were greeted warmly and made to feel comfortable. Do not be afraid to stay here whenever you are in the valley.

We stayed here for an overnight with 15 other friends during a recent bicycle trip and virtually had the entire motel rented except for two rooms. This is a very charming and simple hotel in a very small town. The building seems somewhat old, just like the town, but it was clean, very well maintained, with comfortable beds. The night... More

Family owned motel, in the middle of some renovation which does not interfere with the rooms. The rooms are vary clean and charming. Not elaborate! The motel is with in walking distance to 2 different cafe's. The price is great . The town of Saguache is friendly with small town charm, and a very nice museum The motel is right... More

Depends on what you want. The owners get an A+ for service. The room(s) (see Lotty B) are very clean and made spotless daily. The walls are thin and the fan runs when you turn on the light in the bathroom. No complementary coffee urn in the room.

This place was not impressive at first glance, partly because it's being renovated, but the rooms are surprsingly nice. Each unit has two separate bedrooms. The owners are very nice and you can tell they have put a lot of personal attention into the motel. This is a very small town with a lot of charm and character and the... More

Very simple little place. Don't let outside fool you. Basic yet incredibly charming little room. Actually, two small bedrooms and a small bathroom. Great price and will stay here again. Staff very kind.

The location is scary...not a soul in a 30 miles radius Motel is very old. Our room had a door in it...we stayed for a night & did not have courage to explore where the door leads to. There is no refrigarator/microwave in the room. Parking was not a problem (you have the whole town to park your car). Bathroom/room... More

Formerly Hillside Motel. Don't let the outside fool you. Not much on curb side looks, but the rooms have been completely remodeled down to all new fixtures in the bathroom. Quite, clean and comfortable and the price is right for a short stay over in this very small town. Only small complaint would be no in room coffee. Very friendly... More
